You could, but then the sim doesn't log any of your hours / achievements against your pilot profile.

Ah ok,  I guess that might matter to some. 

Weirdly, after SU8 I get micro stutters not on the ground but after I've taken off and until about a thousand feet. Dev Mode on Dev Mode off, makes no difference. Mainly in urban areas.

This is exactly what I see, apart from dev mode having an effect in my case. My experimenting is at Heathrow, so it's a heavy load scenario.

I have reloaded Win 10, fully updated it and graphics drivers. Only software installed is MSFS and it still stutters.

A marked retrograde step from SU7 which, for the exact same settings, ran smoothly.

So much for a good debugging release.

Controls locking when panning view in cockpit whilst taxiing. Still a bug and has been since SU6, I think.

Using keyboard shortcuts to reset /change views, resulting in bouncing from one view to another, a new bug in SU8.

There are probably loads more bugs people complain of and are overlooked.

Basically, since SU5 last August, this sim has been really flakey for almost a year now, kind of a one thing fixed two things broken cycle.

I'm running out of patience to be honest.

I agree, mine was perfect but this seems to be affecting the minority so will probably only get fixed by accident. 

I changed Low Latency from On to Ultra this morning and for a while I thought it was helping but it was wishful thinking.

Yeah, I turned that off to see it would do anything. Messed with gysnc monitor, nvidia...

These stutters and low FPS is kind of bad for some of us.

OK. I changed my NVIDIA settings to restore defaults, then set to Maximum performance. LOD objects at 100, Terrain LOD 150. 4K resolution scaled to 90%. Hardly any more stutters. Vsync turned off. Something was fiddled with SU8 but this really helped for me.

Most of my MSFS settings are high/ultra.

Essentially, the cure is said to be deleting the content of the "C:\users\YOURNAME\Appdata\Local\FlightSimulator" folder (make backups before). The files are recreated by MSFS, and the user reported on high FPS when on the ground, even in photogrammetry regions.

I applied this too, as I had low FPS (< 20) in PG regions (especially my home region, that is on the manual cache). Still downloading the content, so will report back if it worked after the first test flight with SU 8.

Thanks for sharing. This fix actually worked for me and solved my problem. But I just want to be clear to all I didn't have shutter and or poor performance issues at all, in fact my performance was very good locked at 30FPS never drops even at places like KJFK NY, which I fly in and out of all the time.

My issue was I could never get Photogrammetry to work after an update in late Nov or early Dec last year 2021. Every time I hit "FLY" it will just hang doing nothing, never had any addons and or had anything in Community Folder nor did I try loading Google Maps like some individuals did. I finally just gave up after trying everything (from MSFS support and different forums) and just set Photogrammetry Off in order to fly. 

With this change everything works fine with Photogrammetry On and most importantly my performance is still the same, it didn't drop. Just did a flight from KJFK to KORD with no issues using the 747-8 with the Salty mod. Will continue to do some more flights. Not sure why those files caused the issue.

So, for anyone out there experiencing the same issue I had with Photogrammetry do give this a try and see.

Performance is definitely worse since SU 8, especially on the ground I'm starting to get really tired of this now.
