So what have you bought since the patch?

Featured Replies

I think Im the only one who is actually flying FSX and not spending all my time moving sliders and trying to find that magic .cfg.My wallet is a little lighter since the patch but Im having a blast. Here are a few Ive bought.Eaglesoft Columbia-Plus- Awesome plane, great visuals, flight model and incredible avionics. A little Ferrari with a really nice feel to it.Minus- Those without a high end system or those who refuse to turn down some settings are going to be hurting. Before the patch this plane would have even the uber setups dragging but on my system with med to high settings, Im getting a smooth 20-25.Feelthere CitationX-Plus- Ive had bad experiences with this company in the past and was a little concerned about getting it.That said I am glad I did. Decent overall graphics with a butt ugly stewardess. Fm feels right but the layout of the avionics/popups means you need to be a octopus to run it. After shrinking down/moving around the popups such as the autopilot Im getting better but it just seems to be harder than it needs to be.NEG-Another one of those pre-patch that would a fps eater bringing it down to low levels but Im getting a overall good fps.Flightone scenery maker- Love it. Very easy and a great way to add more detail and customize your favorite areas.Minus- I would like to see more static planes and helis.Alphasim ch-46 Sea knight-Im a big helicopter pilot so it was a must have seeing there is not really much out there. Like most of Alphas stuff, its on the light side with average visuals and not much to do inside. Over priced for what you get but I own ober 15 of Alphas aircraft. Why? Nobody else cranks out military planes/helis/carriers/sceneries like Alphasim. All are fps easy.Ok thats just a few. I also bought the Alpha Apache,Justflight 300 and a few others.Overall Im very happy with the patch.XPAMD FX62 DUAL COREAsus M2N32 SLI Deluxe MOB2 Gigs HyperX ram7900GTX

You're not the only one, I've made multiple flights, some 2 hours in length post SP1. Flying the Caravan mostly although hoping feelthere gets a patch out for the Citation, love the plane, hate the bugs.I'm loving SP1, although it's tempted me to up the sliders a bit it's been very nice to me in rural and alaskan flying. I'm working on finding optimal settings for rural, city and metropolis and saving them as cfg files for future flights, other than that I'm enjoying the view with WMRX (may get the new hifi one too), radar contact, cargo pilot and track IR.Not sure what to buy next though, PMDG is in beta with the 747? but I'm thinking a complex regidonal jet and another good GA craft. I have the FSD Saratoga which flys wonderfully in SP1 even with the glass cokpit and flight monitoring. The realair sf260 is a dream.Another thing I may do is finish all the missions, some ran poorly pre SP1, but performance has improved considerably on those I had problems with convincing me to give them another go.I'll say this again but I sure hope all those having problems can get them resolved because the whole point of FS is to fly, not edit cfg files and play with sliders and settings. Let's hope for a cure soon for those ailing pc's.Ian.

I doubt I'll be buying much for FSX in the way of add-ons. Not for some time anyway. Even after a fresh install and SP1 I just don't get the performance that gives me the urge to spend. I'm just not going to go down that road again with another sim. I have a really loaded FS9 that runs stunningly on my machine with all my add-ons and that is where my add-on money continues to go. To me, FSX is a good helicopter sim so I'm going to relegate it to that position in my FS world.

I think my next one will be FS2Crew for the Wilco Airbus out very soon.

I've been porting over some of my favourite FS9 add-ons, including the RealAir SF.260, Spitfire and Citabria, Scout & Decathalon, Digital Aviation Cheyenne, Aeroworx B200, Carenado C182 and C206 and the Wings of Power WWII Fighters package. I had the temporary Ultimate Terrain FS9 to FSX port installed in FSX pre-SP1 but haven't re-installed it into FSX since patching. I may wait for the proper FSX version to be released. Ditto ActiveSky.

Well I've only purchased the RealAir SF260 since I bought FSX - great bird...but yeah, I tweak waaaay too much ....I really want TrackIR 4 - just too much moola right now :( MAybe they'll have a sale

I also just purchased the Eaglesoft Columbia 400. Great VC, Flight dynamics , and is a blast to fly. I probably would still have bought this plane prior to SP1.Chris,Asus M2NE moboAMD X2 5400 Dual Core2 GIGs Corsair XMS2 RAMBFG Nvidia 8800GTS19" Samsung SyncMaster (1280x1024)

Yeah I just flew the Columbia from Ft Lauderdale to Key West.Landed there right at sunset. Awesome plane:-) I am also getting some distant blurries and if I even accelerate 2x I can see the tiles refreshing. However, seeing the complexity of the planes avionics,vc graphics and my med to high settings, Im not complaining about 20-25 set avg and smooth.IMO FSX is now good enough to satisfy the GA,heli, corp jet crowd with good visuals and good fps. However the heavy metal,PMDG crowd with every addon known to man are in for a slide show.

Just downloaded the installer for the Columbia, come on here to have a quick peek, and see this thread :-)Was a bit hesitant but I'm gonna go for it !cheersGreghttp://www.fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpg

Yep, the Columbia of course... :-)Some pics over here (scroll down) :http://www.flightsimworld.com/forums/index...howtopic=115758Heiko

If Captain Sim ever FSX-afies their F-104, I'll buy it on sight.

Captain Sim has the worst customer support I have ever seen. I wouldn't use their products if someone paid me. Sorry to turn this into that kind of thread, but when is avsim going to take a stand against them? There are tens of people over at their forums complaining that they get 4-7 fps with the fsx 757, even after sp1. It's clearly a programming error and Captain Sim has been nothing but rude to their customers who have paid 25-50 dollars for the blocks. Absolutely disgraceful.

I have the JustFlight Schweiser 300 CBI too, and I just put in my order for Track IR today.Best regards, DonnyFLYing? It's cool. Trillions of birds and insects can't be wrong.
