May 19, 200719 yr Try this settingMipBias=7 or value 6Add that to your display and display.device settings...Cheers,Andr André

May 19, 200719 yr Commercial Member Hey Andre... just tried this for the heck of it, and the results I got with my Ati X850XT is completely opposite :( Attached are with and without this line in the fsx.cfg file. The trees, building and other objects shimmered to death with this in the config file as well as weird artifacts appearing. When I took it out it was back to where it should be. Anyways just wanted to post my findings with my ati card.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/171966.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/171967.jpgOh BTW.. still awaiting your email :)Thanks Tim FuchsManaging PartnerREX SIMULATIONS website: www.rexsimulations.comsupport: www.rexaxis.com

May 19, 200719 yr Andre',This looks very promosing. The blurries I was getting was so bad was going back to FS9. Setting Mips at 6 worked but with some flickering/shimmering of fences and concrete, but not bad on the trees. Will still tinker some more but at least the type of blurries and delay textures are essentially gone. I have a NVIDIA 7600GS, 256mb. Not to bad with frame rates at KSEA. Also been using unlimited for frames and get better results. Thanks again for the heads up.. May 19, 200719 yr Commercial Member Actually my blurries reduced substantialy by increasing the detail radius to large and turning down the mesh complexity to 52. May 20, 200719 yr Has anyone tried to set it to 4, which is how we used to set FS9 too, as a compromise, of texture clarity, vs shimmering? I'm going to try it now, but so far I don't have a blurry issue, so not sure what my results will prove!! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
May 20, 200719 yr In Gary's forum there was a post that indicated the entry in the FSX.cfg file would be:Add the line MipBias=6, so it looks like this:(DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT.0)MipBias=6My question is this (notice the "0" in "GT.0")- If I have two entries in my config file - "0" and "1" (TripleHead2Go config)do I need to place the MipBias=6 entry in both places. In my case here are my entries:(DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX .0)MipBias=6Mode=3840x1024x32and(DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX .1)MipBias=6Mode=3840x1024x32"()=square braces"ThanksFrank
May 20, 200719 yr Wow! It's working for me. Thank you. I can't tell you how much it has improved my simming experience. Still trying to figure out what level produces the least shimmering on the buildings and such, but the ground textures are back to crisp as far as the eye can see again!
