I found this complex RNP approach Blackbox 711 did into Rio De Janeiro to be pretty impressive:

Yeah, that's fairly challenging approach. Tried it once in the FBW in fairly poor weather.

Just did a RNP approach into LIMJ Genoa rwy28 and it was spot on. I went manual flight around 1200ft and hand-flew her down to the numbers, following the flight directors. The fly-by-wire technology really shines here as just minor corrections are needed.

On the STAR, during descent I had to  use speed brakes to meet the required altitudes. Otherwise VNAV has been very impressive.

One more thing. Is there something going on with flaps 1 setting? It seems it doesn't extend properly on the right side, see screenshot below. On flap 2 it seems fine.

That's an "Airbus thing". If you set Flaps 1 on the ground, it extends both slats and flaps. In the air, it only extends slats. (The left side of the indicator is slats, the right side flaps.)

Edit: To distinguish the two configurations, they are called "config 1+f" (slats and flaps) and "config 1" (slats only).

Wow, didn't know that, thanks! I don't think this is depicted in the FBW.

Left is slats (S) and to the right is flaps (F).

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Just finished my LIPB 19 circle to land approach and what a plane!

It's really easy to program custom waypoints and to tune hold patterns, Vnav and Lnav are solid.

Also the hand flying is superb

Cannot remember last time hand-flying was this much fun in an airliner!

How did you go on short final to LIPB 19? 😉

EDIT: I'll post the approach plate here, just to demonstrate how tricky it can be. Basically the turn to final is a descending 180 degree turn from 2000ft to the threshold at 787'. Before that, the approach is a circling approach from Bolzano VOR consisting of two circuits to be able to reduce the altitude from 4920' at the VOR.

I made a mistake creating the custom waypoint I choose OZE DME 3.0 bearing 001 so the holding was programed to turn at this point and not 4.6.

So I disconnected the autopilot did the full approach manually and at the end was nearly perfectly aligned on short final.

Next is Paro (VQPR) and Queenstown (NZQN)  😁

Is Discord the only way to get support or get in touch with Fenix? I bought a Navigraph subscription just for this plane but now I can't buy the plane (only PayPal here...) and I can't ask questions about it (Discord needs a phone number and that's a problem for me). Should have waited with Navigraph...

Thx! That's a bit over the top for a simple question though...

Not at all, and you can be nearly certain they will reply which can be hard on the discord, if it's crowded

Okay, done.

heh, 90% of the MSFS screenshots I'm seeing on Volanta now are either the Fenix A320 or the 737. Mostly the A320.
