Sound is a pretty big part of the immersion factor, so I'm glad to hear you improved things - and without having to buy any new gear! I think it shows how helpful a forum like this can be sometimes. One thing your video highlights is the "weirdness" of prop acoustics - the odd little reverberations and random resonations that come from all prop engines. I do think that could be improved a bit on most MSFS prop planes - not sure if the SDK allows you to insert random engine sound patterns, or if everything needs to be on a loop.

That problem with that though, is that then all sounds will be subject to that bass boost - that means naturally high frequency sounds, like A/C hiss will be getting a 6db boost at 60-100Hz (not good). What we really need is engine sounds and other bass-heavy source sound files to have that boost in the low frequencies. That will then give good 'separation' between those sounds, and others that are naturally spectrally-placed in the mids or highs. (Former mastering engineer, flexing here 😄). I absolutely agree about the bass frequencies. I was a actually a bit afraid the PMDG sounds might be worse than the Zibos, but luckily they're great as well. July 1, 20223 yr For what it's worth, I use a Schitt USB DAC and I downloaded the Dolby Atmos app from the MS Store. MSFS supports Dolby Atmos, sounds great to me. https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/dolby-access/9N0866FS04W8
July 2, 20223 yr In X Plane you can hear more powerful sound, such as in the video. For some reason in MSFS the sound is weaker. Another thing, in XP 12, the new version is supporting Fmod surround sounds for anything such as trucks, carts, traffic, animals. The environment is going to sound much better. http://youtube.com/c/Greazer

Power handling: 50 watts RMS/100 watts max • Impedance: 4 ohms • Usable frequency response: 20 to 80 Hz • Fs: 40 Hz • Force peak: 30 lbs. per ft. I drive them with a two channel, 75 watts rms Dayton APA 150 Amp. I use SimShaker For Aviators and the MSFS SimShaker sound module, which utilizes the telemetry data output from simconnect to create tactile feedback. SSA sends it's output to my onboard sound card, which is hooked to the Dayton amp. It's awesome. Feels like being in an aircraft. Parts Express sells it in a combo, https://www.parts-express.com/Dayton-Audio-APA150-With-2-Aura-Pro-Bass-Shakers-Bundle-300-9004 Alternately, someone could use an old home theater amp or car amp. There is another software solution named Opus. I have no experience with it, but I am curious. http://www.opussoftware.co.uk/opusfsi/OpusMSFS_ButtKicker.pdf For what it's worth, my seat/pedals/hotas/stick are mounted on a frame I built out of 1 inch steel tubing from Home Depot. Mostly because my brain can't MSFS properly unless all the cockpit is stationary in the correct location. 😁 Anyway, I can feel the vibration through my seat, hotas, and stick. I want to add two more transducers near my rudder pedals. If anyone is curious, I wear headphones and can't hear the transducers. Someone sitting in the room with me can watch TV without telling me to turn them down. Edited July 2, 20223 yr by Waldo Pepper

MSFS supports Wwise, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audiokinetic_Wwise. The aircraft/mods that use it can sound really good imo. FTsim+'s sounds make the Twotter sound great imo. Also the C208 and Kingair. https://www.ftsimplus.com/msfs2020.html
