Oddly enough, I am transitioning to a new Accounting Firm in mid August. The independent firm that does the background check asked me to upload my degrees. I’ve never been asked for anything more than my CPA License. I literally took a picture of my three degrees and my CPA certificate and uploaded. Hopefully that will do the job. Martin offered to debate him in PMs but so far Dave has not taken up the offer. Martin and I have often disagreed but never to the point of arguing ad-infinitum. And for stuff not appropriate to the forum Martin and I have PMd each other frequently. If you truly want to debate to elicit information about a person PMing is the way to go. The only reason to carry on about it in a forum is in an attempt to embarrass a person that will close down a thread as quickly as anything else. And in a discussion about degreed persons and non-degreed persons nobody has show their credentials. We take people at their word here...at least I do. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. July 31, 20223 yr Oh lovely. It seems my replies have been deleted. But David's continued character assassination of me hasn't. Nice! My posts selectively deleted but the topic not locked. Good job I'm not a conspiracy theorist. Edited July 31, 20223 yr by martin-w

He blindly believes in what he believes, and if you disagree with him then he resorts to shaming, gaslighting, and name-calling. I see this over and over again with folks who have drank the kool-aid and are fervent, zealous believers in a certain modern cause and agenda. All I have done is raise doubts and expressed skepticism, yet I get rebuked and disparaged for asking questions. I have never professed to be an expert in the subject matter, yet someone who has no background, education, experience, or training in a science or technical field, who read some articles and watched some documentaries, tries to make me out to be a fool for daring to question the supposed "consensus". So when someone speaks with authority and as an expert on a particular subject, and claims to have such vast knowledge and understanding of that subject that they ridicule and show disdain to folks who disagree with them about it, then I expect them to at least have the scientific or technical qualifications to back up their claims and prove that they really understand what they're talking about. Okay, the above it total made up nonsense. I have absolutely never said I have all the answers. I have also absolutely never claimed to be an expert. You made that up. I don't blindly believe in anything. What set you off this time was the big bang and my reference to how it was created, or rather the absence of the requirement for a certain entity. Now you see, I can back that up with articles from Stephen Hawking, Lawrence Krauss, Alan Guth and others. Do THEY have the right qualifications for you? What I trued to do was encourage you to PM me rather than debating a forbidden topic in the forum. You could have debated this in a friendly, mature way via PM, and we both could have learnt something, but you chose insults and no counterargument instead. The only time you have been rebuked is when you insist on pushing topics in a direction the moderators have told us not to go. I have never shamed gaslighted or insulted you. In fact this current shenanigans began with you telling me I'm pretentious and most of the time know nothing of which I speak. Ironic really when I can actually give you the evidence required from the scientists concerned. You see, I am just the medium that passes on the information paraphrased, verbatim and often with links. Its not MY knowledge. Its not about me! You have never been made out to be a fool, in fact we had a very friendly debate via PM last week, and you impressed me. Unfortunately, when you have no counterargument, and have been shown to be wrong, you respond with insults. Its happened a number of times in the past. Unfortunately what psychologists call projection seems to be happening here, no, in this thread. As for having no experience in the field, writing science fiction for two decades and being interested in science most of my life must account for something. I think you'll find that's more than "a few documentaries". But of course, I'm no expert, like you aren't when you post learnedly on numerous subjects for which you have no qualifications. Doesn't seem to bother you. I have PM'd you as you know, you read it, but you still haven't taken up my offer to debate this in private. If you do, I will have numerous articles for you to read from qualified scientists to back up my position. I have them ready. Again I'm just an intermediary, the scientists in question are the experts. I'm ready when you are. I'm waiting for you to tell me how I am "wrong most of the time". Or at least offer some kind of counterargument. Edited July 31, 20223 yr by martin-w

Its nonsense, not once have I claimed to have a deep knowledge of absolutely anything. He's just making stuff up. I'm telling him what science say and he doesn't like what he hears. 😁 Edited July 31, 20223 yr by martin-w
July 31, 20223 yr Author Replying to Luke again. My general practitioner whom I see on a quarterly basis unless I have need to see him is not a doctor but a nurse practitioner. He can do everything a doctor can do except cut. He's been an emergency room nurse and an operating room nurse. He does have a degree in pharmacology so I trust him with my prescriptions. He does refer me to doctors...or other nurse practitioners in specialized fields like my renal doctor. Yes, I call them doctor when I address them. I have a friend here who was an Army doctor. His doctor retired and he asked me wgo I was seeing. I told him about my general practitioner and now he is seeing him on a regular basis. I've been seeing him for about 20 years now. So knowledge and experience can qualify one to be 'doctors' too. But they cannot perform operations. They are not surgeons. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. July 31, 20223 yr Moderator Ok guys, this one’s reached the end. @birdguy @martin-w @dave2013 Perhaps the three of you should just start a zoom meeting or three way call where you can debate each other on nuclear/wind/fusion energy, UFOs, electric cars, weather/climate, cats, or any combination of these topics until you’re blue in the face. It’s the same debates over and over with you guys, it’s almost like “Groundhog Day” here in Hangar Chat. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
