Try the Detail filter in GFE it hardly increases the exterior but you do have to play w/ the sliders.  Intially I was dialing back shadows in another filter but find this is much better.

Yes, that works great. But undocking PFD, ND or ECAM will lower performance and raise GPU's temperature dramatically. So better leave these panels as is and, if so desired, just zoom into them when using GFE..

Just my $0.02

So a setting would be welcomed.

Agree. And preferably a setting in the sim menu.

Btw, have anyone tried comparing eye adaption on and off? By changing the setting in usercfg.opt?

Double post, Avsim was lagging, sorry.

I tried. Still have the shortcut to UserCfg.opt on my desktop. It worked in SU9 but MSFS appears to reset it in SU10 each time I change it to "0" 😞

Make sure you select "custom" in the sim graphics settings. Then when you make changes to the .opt file, they will be automatically saved.

Ah. Totally forgot about that thank you I'll test again tonight and see if it makes any difference.

Out of curiosity I just tried the eye adaption change in UserCfg.opt. (my graphics are set to Custom)

It makes zero difference in my case, it in fact the eye adaption effect remains completely missing for me since SU10, the cockpit remains just as dark heads down below the screen as it is when moving view to look out.

Odd that its different for different users

Custom plus eye-adaptation to 0 seems to work for me. (Only did try this once)

I'm sure that's a simulator.

Been flying a fair bit today heading towards the sun, and I think it makes sense that the cockpit looks very dark in situations like that. It would also be like that in RL. It does help a bit to use the visors if the aircraft has one.

Not flying directly towards the sun and the cockpit is completely fine. Flying in low light conditions (heavy weather, twilight/night) and I turn up the cockpit lights.

Which aircraft? I flew the PMDG 737 in VR twice since the update and it's definitely too dark. There are spots in the cockpit like the pedestal so dark you can barely see details like screws, scratches or contours of individual panels in cruise. It doesn't make sense for it to be that dark on a sunny day. In fact, it's not as dark with some clouds as it is in cruise with plenty of sunlight which points to the eye adaptation effect still having some effect.

I changed Eye Adaption to 0 and saved a custom profile in MSFS (thank you @Cpt_Piett)- I honestly couldn't tell much difference. I think it was worse in SU9 and they have possibly tweaked it in SU10.

The analog Caravan.

I forgot to mention (or maybe I did earlier in the thread) I've been tuning the shadows with reshade. I'll check with it off.

This is how it looks for me with the sun in different positions. In the first image I didn't have the instrument panel lights on.
