What AA settings are people using?  Some settings absolutely crush my 1080 Ti.  For now I'm using FXAA (ewwww) but it looks okay and fps stay in the 30s with clouds present.

This helped alot.

Shut down XP12

Delete C:\X-Plane 12\Output\shadercache\vulkan

Run XP12 again

Went from 17 fps to 30 fps in KADS

Do a test flight at night. I feel like the night lighting has improved aswell.

Strangely I have never done a night flight in XP12, so that is now remedied!  I am very impressed!

I am actually getting better performance. Try deleting shader cache if anyone is facing low fps.

Thanks

Just tried a flight in the Zibo under rc2. This is really shaping up nicely! Got the stroboscopic flickering though.. wonder what causes this as it is very annoying.

Hmmm, still have the jagged runway/taxi lines, some shimmering still.

So, installed X-Europe from SimHeaven and went to LFMN to have a look. It's actually gorgeous. However performance when looking 'downtown' dips under my locked FPS somewhat. That made me start playing with the Nvidia Control Panel. Is there any consensus regarding settings in NCP these days. Threaded optimization? AA-settings from within NCP? It is a bit of a jungle TBH... 😅

Still they (LR or AMD) have not fixted the huge problems with AMD cards under Linux. Apparently this is not on their priority list 🤢

Waiting for AMD. Still.

Friendly reminder: WHITELIST AVSIM IN YOUR AD-BLOCKER. Especially if you're on a modern CPU that can run a flight simulator well. These web servers aren't free...

Uninstalled older nvidia driver using DDU, installed new nvidia driver (527.37), updated to RC2, deleted shader cache. Ran XP12, flight started -> PC hard reset. Checked bios, event editor, nothing. Changed some BIOS stuff, ran XP12 for few more times, every time PC resets itself after couple of seconds. XP11 and MSFS are working fine for hours.

EDIT: deleting all the preference files (*.prf) solved the issue.

P.S. LR need to implement TAA for anti-aliasing as FXAA, 2/4/8xMSAA are a huge GPU cycle eaters, but small visual benefit.
