December 5, 20223 yr I watched it on TCM last night. I had never seen it before. It's called 'Remember the Night' and stars Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray. Yes, there is Miracle on 34th Street and It's a Wonderful Life. And they are great Christmas movies. But this 'Remember the Night' is a low-key, unusual Christmas Story with a somewhat bittersweet but happy ending. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.

December 6, 20223 yr I remember seeing them both in Double Indemnity years ago. I thought at the time there didn't seem t be much chemistry between them but thinking back, I think they were doing it more for the money so that may have been deliberate.
December 6, 20223 yr Author Holdit, the contrast between the two movies is a portrait in acting. How actors and actresses can play such different roles. Especially when there is a chemistry between the two the director detects and wants them both to play together again but in different types of roles. John Wayne plays John Wayne. We don't expect more from him but we do enjoy him just being John Wayne. But Actors and actresses like Fred McMurray and Barbara Stanwyck and Bette Davis and Glen Ford and Monty Wooley (remember him?) and many others can pull off romance, drama, action, and comedy and do either one very well. That's called acting. You don't typecast actors and actresses like that. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.

Remember when a full season was 28 weekly episodes? Four years for a total of 112 episodes! *Nota Bene: I refuse to use the so-called PC "actor" when referring to the ladies. It just sounds wrong! 🤣 Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

I couldn't find it on TCM on Demand. Caught it on the ROKU. Only watched part of it and had to hit the sack. Getting old. Vic green
