Fenix Panel Flood Lights

Featured Replies

Has anyone else experienced the panel flood lights flickering in the Fenix?  For me it seems to happen with low vis or into a congested airport.  Is there a fix for this?

I fly the Fenix at night most of the time and have never seen that.  Are you on DX12?

I am on DX12 but am pretty sure i got it using DX11 too.  Happens almost every time into and out of FSDT ORD and I had it today approaching KEWR in low vis.

Oddly enough, I just had this happen last night while on approach into KEWR. No clue why it was happening.

I didn't think of that but is this sarcasm or are you serious?

I wonder if the flood lights are a 'simobject' and you are hitting the MSFS limit on approach since it sounds like it happens when approaching busier airports.  If you are using GSX, make sure to uncheck the 'Extra Ground Clutter' in the FSDT Installer.  If you are not using it or already have that unchecked, try without AI aircraft and see if it happens.  I am thinking that might be what it is...

Interesting.

Had flickering of both panel flood lights and external lights on PMDG 737 flying into the same KORD. Never had that in the Fenix.

Wonder if there is something that doesn't play nice in the sim now with certain scenery complexity or a design technique used by these two secenery developers that doesnt work as well in SU11.

P.S. I don't use GSX.

Probably not but funny.

Maybe related, but I was having a flickering or strobe-ish flashing at night. Turning off Bloom in the setting fixed it for me.

I flew the Fenix into FSDT KORD yesterday morning. It was just before dawn when I landed.

No flickering lights in the airplane. I'm running DX11 if it matters.

I still have this issue but noticed that bloom is on so I can try turning that off and see if that helps.  Is there a sim object setting or something I can change with that?
