SXAD release El Paso (KELP) for P3Dv5

A good number of the gates in the SXAD El Paso scenery ADE do not match the SODE definitions or the markings on the ramp at those gates...for example spot B9 in the ADE is marked as B8 on the ramp and is recognized as B8 by SODE.

GSX won't work on those mismatched parking spots--at least five of them that I've found.

I sure wish Shaun would add some ADE-SODE-signage crosschecks to his workflow to make sure they all line up properly--this sort of sloppy ADE work has been present in at least four of his more recent add-ons.

At nearly $25 there really needs to be more attention to detail.

Sorry about this, I literally did see these and fixed the ADE gates, exported and checked them, saving the ADE file as a new iteration. Then somehow I opened up the previous ADE iteration without realising it and exported over the fixed version. I'll definitely make sure this doesn't happen again.

I agree.

There are issues with some SODE jetways that do not connect at BNA as well.

My one major pet peeve for scenery creators is to spend time and create a decent, accurate ADE.

Sorry which gates are a problem with KBNA? I think there was a fix uploaded?

I just bought this scenery and I think it is pretty good.

Does anyone have a better AFCAD for Biggs Army Airfield (KBIF)? The one that is included has no parking spaces at all. Biggs is right next door to El Paso and is included in this scenery. Why would they go through the trouble of making Biggs and have a AFCAD for it with no parking?

Hi Joseph

I took a look at it and they have drawn the taxilines but not added the parkings. I added the parkings now but only connected part of them.

They made the airport, because it's a landmark but not to use it. As I have seen in Google Earth it is nowadays a helicopter base. Over at MAIW they have nothing for KBIF, no afcad, no traffic. So I guess, there will be no traffic anyway unless you made it yourself. Checking the sim with the modified Afcad gave me zero aircraft at KBIF and I have the complete AI package from MAIW. AI helicopters are available there but traffic has still to be made.

I added some static choppers, I found made by Guy Diotte in 2011. I added Apaches, Chinooks and Black Hawks. Maybe a problem for performance.

You can dowload this afcad here:

It's only a quick mod. I will refine it maybe later.

This looks freaking promising and I am buying it as soon as I can.  Freaking happy there is still developers for Prepar3D.

I updated the file a bit. Worth downloading again.

Just wanted to say thank you for the AFCAD. I have made some plans for a few AI planes flying out of Biggs.

You'll find that's the case at a lot of U.S. Army Airfields (a large number of rotary wing vs. fixed wing).  Not a whole lot of traffic vs. KELP:

BIF Biggs Aaf (Fort Bliss) Airport (BIF/KBIF) - FlightAware

FWIW, there's a cargo/passenger terminal at 31.82967790560581, -106.41061567606184.

Hey Austin,

Thanks for this great hint, which I worked into the files right now. Made two cargo and two pax gates, for heavies, as I could see parked there in recent years according to GoogleEarth. I look forward to testing, if some traffic will finaly make it to these stands.

I also have to add, MAIW sent two pave hawk helicopters to KBIF, as far as I could see meanwhile. They have plenty of parking space now. I connected a few more with this update which can be used by AI.

Meanwhile I encountered several aircraft from MAIW at KBIF. These are Apaches, Pavehawks, Hercules C130, PC-12 and Beech 40. I tried to force them on the right parkings but some are just free. I also replaced the CH47 static with a converted model from MAIW. That is less complex.

Sorry, I didn't put any parking at KBIF as seems to be a helicopter base now and there seems to be no P3D AI.  The product is KELP and KBIF was placed there for aesthetic reasons. It didn't really occur that people might want to fly into KBIF or spot AI there, as it would just hinder the FPS flying in and out of ELP.

If anyone has a better AFCAD I'd be happy to link to that in the product description and any AI flight plans that and the Freeware military AI traffic for Flight Simulator and Prepar3d - Military AI Works .

Our KELP has been released for MSFS if anyone is interested. 50% off for P3D customers!
simMarket: EL PASO KELP MSFS

It's listed on SM at 17.49 Euro...50% of that would be 8.75 Euro, according to my high-precision abacus.

The discounted price for existing P3D customers is listed as 10 Euro...that's not a 50% discount.

I didn't notice that I calculated on the product price I saw with VAT. Sorry for the EUR1.75!  A 43% discount. 🙄

If anyone has anything positive to say, don't all speak up at once! 🤣

Well, I definitely appreciate your work and you have filled in the gaps nicely for me. Hopefully we still see more from you in the future for p3d.

I've literally had 2 years of requests for MSFS, here we are and crickets!

Are you talking about crickets because of the lack of responses here about the MSFS release? If so, then I would guess because no one here (or very few) has MSFS. After all this is the P3D forum.

Looking forward to your next P3D release.
