Crazy wind shifts lately

There needs to be a hotfix, it cant wait for for the next sim update. The sim is becoming unflyable at higher altitudes when using live weather.

A hotfix to the sim itself won’t help. The problem is almost certainly due to corrupt, or outdated MeteoBlue data on the Live Weather servers.

I've noticed some unrealistic, violent wind shifts in the sim lately, around the UK.    They're not reflected on any weather data. I've found myself having to go into the weather setting and deactivate real weather a few times lately.

You guys aren't wrong, the winds have been wayyyyyyy off lately.

*EDIT*  I should qualify that.  On and/or near the airport.  As in METARs, have been way off in terms of the winds.  Thankfully the QNH/ALT have been OK.

Posting here about it gets zero visibility from Asobo. You all need to be on the official forums saying this or don’t expect anything done about them.

They have been aware if it for a very long time.  That's why the core WX engine has been under re-write for quite a while.  Numerous Q&As have addressed it.  It's just taking a while to get done.  I think Jorg said they were also going to get a bigger data package from them at some point.

I often see headwinds at 80knots at altitude.  Not way off but totally realistic.

I too have noticed crazy wind shifts the past couple of days...

The weather here in the Western US has been insane.  MSFS seems to be replicating RL IMO.

The other problem I'm seeing is that the dewpoint is only ever 10. Always. Without exception.

I really hope they can fix it soon. The abrupt wind changes at higher altitudes are starting to put me off flying airliners which is pretty much all I do. I did 3 flights last week, all between 2 and 4 hours long and each one was effected by wind changes at higher flight levels causing overspeed and stick shaker moments.

Same here, I thought it was a glitch, happened on a last session from Canary Islands towards Spain, on FL360, from strong tailwind to headwind and back, a few times.

I'm almost certain Asobo has started buying less granular weather data for the sim. Probably cheaper and less data intensive on the server side but ruins a lot of the immersion

Sorry for being this topic up again as it’s a little old.

I just completed a flight from Sydney Australia  to Nadi Fiji.

I noticed the winds were completely wrong.

metar was showing 150/04 kts

sim was 150/18kts 😳

will asobo fix this ?

cheers
