and the best MSFS youtubes, like the one I posted above. I fly MSFS in VR exclusively, and unfortunately that is not supported by framegeneration's fps doubler, only ca. 30 - 40 % fps/rasterisation increase over 3090.

AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090,  Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

That's why I'm holding to wireless head tracking... when we get 90+ fps in large photogrammetry cities I'll jump to VR...

The Varjo Aero looks good...

and the Pimax Crystal at $ 300 less looks even better.

"wireless head tracking... "

is still using a 2D monitor, has nothing to do with 3D-VR experience.

The biggest limitation on a 3080 in game is the 12GB VRAM.

To get substantially more than 12GB you would need to go up to a RTX4090.

Sorry....off topic.

Does anyone know how he creates the smooth vision of flight. EG not over New York (as above) but later in the video?

Dont forget to leave it running overnight as you sleep so you can boast of doing a 12 hour flight

I guess this is @ 4K resolution? I would be astonished if 1920x1080 would need anywhere near 12GB VRAM for anything.

Sure, but where exactly do you see 12Gb having any meaningful impact on performance?  It's never an issue here but I'm at 3440x1440.  And you get 16Gb of VRAM in the RTX4080...

And 12Gb is more than ample for 3440x1440

I have read that MSFS2020 will utilize whatever amount of VRAM that is available.  In my case with 12Gb I get quite close to 12 gb but with the same scenario someone with 16Gb might see close to 16gb used and so on for even greater amounts of VRAM.  Now what difference this all makes to FPS or the appearance of the sim is less clear.
