Cool T-37 Tweet Freeware

Featured Replies

@A320_SX ALX : Would there be any hope of your Tweet moving to MSFS, Alx? This one here is ok, functionally, and flies well - for a free-ware job - but the sounds just kill it. They are chopped to pieces, and detract from the entire experience. The one from Project Sierra Hotel was as flawless as could be for that era of sim, and it's sounds were awesomely realistic. I had no idea that one was 'still around' - albeit for P3D, but would gladly pay good money for yours in this sim.

We've had the model in the sim since 2020, but haven't moved on as the project was too advanced for our knowledge at the time.

Also, I owe the Tweet guy an apology. His model is original, I accidentally imported the same model twice and thought it was identical. False alarm.

I love your work, but in this case I hope you reconsider how you raise things like this in future.

He should have been communicated with first before any of this was made public.

You know what it's like - people can be hung out to dry within an hour on the internet.

Luckily it was a simple mistake in the end, and I appreciate your honesty in at least coming forward to put the story straight.

I second that. Very unpleasant.

Yep. Entirely on our side and I had to put it in public to restore him.

It would be good to delete your initial post in this thread or ask a mod to do it if its too late.

Maybe it's an opportunity for you to reach out to him, with a personal apology and an offer to bring him into your team "in some commercial" way, with him providing the needed know-how to getting a blend of yours and his into MSFS with some decent sounds. Just a suggestion that would hopefully smooth any ruffled feathers and would benefit everyone (including me!) . . . . .

Already done! Well, not all of it but the apology part.

Without accounting for the Tweet, Phantom, B-52 and the Corsair, we have more than we can handle and not enough coffee.

I'd rather the post stays as a reminder that you can screw someone while doing due diligence.

edit - Never mind, wrong question for this thread.

Thats a very peculiar way of seeing things.

I suspect, Hans, that ALX meant to say "reminder that you can inadvertently screw someone while doing due diligence".

Inadvertently screw someone. We double-checked the models before making the post, but still made a -dumb- mistake in the comparison process that led to a wrong message to him and subsequent accusation. This should be a lesson to us and others and I think it should stay in view.

You  expect that everyone reads your apology. It's not what you think, it's what a reader of this topic thinks.

Questions about the T-37

- after a lot of  landing and takeoff fun I parked the plane but could find no way to turn off the engines.  I shut down all the electrical I could find and even did an emergency fuel system shutoff (under the red guard) but the engines kept running.   I finally pulled the two fire knobs at the top of the instrument panel the engines stopped.  But,  there must be a better way.

I was flying into/out of Page Field (KPGA) in Utah.  The VOR there is 117.6 and there is a published VOR approach.  I had the radio set to 117.6/Main but the VOR instrument never registered a signal of any kind.  Is there something I don't understand about VOR in a military jet?

I seldom fly jets - I am low and slow but the T-37 is fun to fly and I love all the round gauges.

Does this (MSFS) version have the autopilot?  I sure cannot find it and the plane is really sensitive in pitch!  At 10,000' and 75% power going from -1% to +1% changes VS from -1500 to + 1800.

"Throttle Levers: The instructor's throttles are the only ones with an engine cut position. Right-click the throttle from the idle position to shut off the
engine."

I haven't used any of the nav or com gear yet, so I can't give you any gen on it.
Yes - me too. Round gauges look like they 'belong' there.
I don't know if she has an AP; the real one didn't.

I heartily recommend you download the pdf that I linked to in my first post: it has a ton of info on the real aircraft, albeit with some differences here and there. This is the Project Sierra Hotel T-37 manual from the old fs9/FS2000, etc., version - how to install it, etc.., and many of the click-spots may not be at all applicable in this aircraft, so you can really ignore much of the first 19 pages, but after that - p20 - 27, there's a well-written history of the T-37, which is followed by a sort-of 'familiarization' manual to p74, where it becomes a serious fight manual, covering all phases of flight - much/most of it coming from the real-world experiences of the guys that flew this machine every day. It is a great reference to have nearby.
