May 21, 20233 yr Hi Everyone! The debate continues on how to update my existing system. i7-10700K, GTX1080, 32gb 3200, 750w PSU, z490 MSI board with a 34" 60hz screen. MSFS currently runs well but I am getting Device hung errors in P3D. I have reloaded the sim and still get them once in a while. I was debating a used 3070 which won't bottleneck the CPU (according to a cpu bottleneck website) but I'm a bit nervous about the power requirement and I want to be as future thinking as possible. I'm also considering an Intel A750 or A770 if one ever shows up again.in the stores. An RTX 4070 may be the eventual winner. I'd appreciate any opinions anyone can share. Thanks! May 21, 20233 yr Your power supply unit may be an issue with upgrading to an RTX 3070 or 4070. Although 750 watts is usually the stated minimum, 850 watts will handle any power draw spikes these nvidia cards may inflict upon the PSU. My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

Everything I’ve read says the 40xx are better at power consumption. As are the intel A750 and A770. More research on my end needed. I’m tempted to wait for the A770. May 21, 20233 yr I'd be very hesitant to jump in early on Intel's new GPU line--sims and GPUs have always had a tricky relationship, and there aren't enough of us to force a quick resolution of driver problems. You might also consider a used 3090 or 3080 as an option. May 23, 20233 yr I just bought a Seasonic Prime GX-750 to power the future 4070 or perhaps the 4060Ti 16GB if it proves sufficient for UW 1440p. May 23, 20233 yr I'd go with the 4070 for MSFS due to Frame Generation support. 750W will be fine for that GPU. I have used 850W with a 4090 for months with no issues whatsoever.
