May 22, 20233 yr Hi all- Installed MSFS yesterday and still cannot get my throttle to work correctly. Quadrant is a VFTQ6. Assigning the throttle x axis in the Cessna 172 results in the throttle smoothly going to about 75% then jumps to 100% No amount of changing in sensitivities has any effect. Can't find anything on this. Any ideas? Thanks, Mark

May 22, 20233 yr Author Already calibrated this axis multiple times thinking the same thing. Disconected usb connection as well. No luck there. Also tried calibrating with Lorby's Axis and Ohs with no success either.

May 22, 20233 yr Author Well, the throttle lever, when using the Windows calibration tool, moves slowly up to 50% travel then jumps to 100% which is duplicated in the VC of the 172. I disconnected that controller and hooked up an unused WartHog throttle, assigned an axis and it worked fine. This is looking like a hardware problem to me, unless some else can suggest a new path. Thanks, Mark
May 22, 20233 yr I’d suggest contacting VF support given what you’ve tried, they!re usually quick to respond. May 23, 20233 yr Have you tried all 6 axis? Are they all the same or just the one with this issue? Have you used the VFHUB software to calibrate/check the throttle? Ryzen 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB, Win 11. MSFS2020. Moza, MFG, Fulcrum & Virpil controllers. Quest 3 for VR.
May 23, 20233 yr This is the problem with throttle units - even the most expensive ones. If it's jumping from 50-100%, it sounds like the potentiometers need to be cleaned. It's an infuriating problem. I wish they would just make all throttle units with hall sensors instead of the cheap nonsense they charge a fortune for.
May 23, 20233 yr Good point, is this the original TQ6 or the newer TQ6+? How old is it? Was this a new issue i.e. working previously? Ryzen 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB, Win 11. MSFS2020. Moza, MFG, Fulcrum & Virpil controllers. Quest 3 for VR.

Actually, I believe the VirtualFly throttles have hall sensors, if I recall correctly. I think they're the only throttle units that have them. So I'm quite surprised to hear about this issue as that is a common symptom of cheap potentiometer units fouling up with dust. I used to have this issue every few months with my PFC throttles (potentiometers) Edited May 23, 20233 yr by ErichB

May 23, 20233 yr I have VFTQ6+ throttles, and also a much less expensive Saitek 3-lever quadrant that I use for assigning a spoiler axis and nosewheel steering axis. The Saitek started doing something similar to what you describe. The axis would only work halfway, and would suddenly “jump” to full defection. I tried re-calibrating in Windows, but still had the same issue. Since the Saitek has potentiometers I thought one had gone bad, but I plugged it into a Windows laptop and it worked normally there. I plugged it back into my FS PC and in the Windows calibration menu I chose to load the “default” profile - and made no attempt to do a custom calibration. That fixed the problem. It may or may not work for your VF quadrant, but it would be worth a try. The VF quadrant is first rate in terms of quality, but if it does have a hardware fault, getting it repaired could be a problem since VirtualFly is located in Spain. I purchased the quadrant from Jetline Systems in Florida who are a US dealer for VF products. If it does need repair, perhaps they can arrange it - even if you did not purchase it there. (I don’t know if your are in the US yourself). But try resetting the Windows profile to “default” first. May 23, 20233 yr I had that issue with the non + TQ6 I returned mine to Jetline and waited a few months till the + came out. Also I have never had a issue with support from VF they will tell you where to get the part and detailed instructions on how to fix it. I would also call Ken over at Jetline to see if they will fix it for You. CPU: Intel i9-11900K @5.2 / RAM: 64GB DDR4 3200 / GPU: 4080 16GB /
