June 29, 20232 yr I read the latest LM update regarding their new licensing schema and I positively welcome the change. I think this provides more flexibility to all P3D users. I will say no more, because there is still a moratorium in place with discussing P3D licensing details in this forum! 🤐 SpoilerSystem specs: MFG Crosswind pedals| ACE B747 yoke |Honeycomb Bravo throttleNow built: P3Dv5.3HF2: Intel i5-12600K @4.8Ghz | MSI Z690-A PRO | Asus Dual RTX 4070 Super OC 12Gb| 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200Mhz |Samsung 980Evo Pro PCIe 500Gb | WD Black SN850 PCIe 2Tb | WD SA510 4Tb |beQuiet 802 Tower Case|Corsair RM850 PSU | Acer Predator X34P 3440x1440pMark AldridgeMSFS2024 SU5 & P3D v5.3 HF2
June 29, 20232 yr Do they still offer the Developer License for $10 a month?(Sorry, I'm too lazy to click the link 🙂) Best regards,--Anders Bermann-- ____________________Scandinavian VAPilot-ID: SAS2471

As I understand it, they've grandfathered the folks with developer licenses to the current per-month rates as long as the licenses remain active and don't lapse. That's an important potential gotcha for the folks who use the Pro-Plus dev version to run complex multi-machine, multi-monitor and/or multi-projector systems. I'm just guessing, but I think maybe the change to the new "personal" licenses was made to accomodate students (e.g. those in military and civilian pilot training courses who train using P3D) who want to practice at home. At any rate the new personal license is a welcome development, if for no other reason than putting an end to the endless bickering and jailhouse lawyering that's gone on for years over the current license terms. As some say, it may be for weather or navigation functionality, but apparently the Professional version can work in an "disconnected environment". Presumably that version would have as good or better weather and navigation features as the academic version, even whilst disconnected. Interestingly, I remember reading recently about a new "professional" version of ActiveSky that listed disconnected/offline operation as a feature. I'm thinking the two are likely related...
