August 10, 20232 yr Does anyone know if we will have to run MSFS 2020 AND MSFS 2024 or will we simply have to uninstall 2020 and then install 2024? What I am effectively asking is "will we have to run both sims?" Anyone know?
August 10, 20232 yr I don't think that we know the answer to that yet. I'm hoping for some kind of "upgrade path" that won't require a complete re-install of everything. We'll see. Rick Abshier 5900X | RTX 5070 Ti OC| 64 GB@3600 | India Pale Ale
August 10, 20232 yr My understanding is they are two separate installations, seen as two different sims. You can have both installed, run both, run 'em at the same time, whatever you like. They shouldn't interfere. Though I wouldn't expect an upgrade path but the transition should be relatively seamless importing most of the community folder stuff into 2024. August 10, 20232 yr Don't think anyone knows for certain, but it would be highly unlikely that you would simply "upgrade" the sim.. it's an entirely different product. I can run XP 10,11,12, P3D 4,5,6, MSFS (all the many old FSX etc versions) as independent programs, and that's mostly likely the case here. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
August 10, 20232 yr So a giant main drive is probably going to be needed , LOL. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
August 10, 20232 yr Its a separate program, so you will be able to run both independently. I currently have MSFS, P3D v4, v5 and v6 installed. No issues. Do you mean like, have both sims running at the same time and flying the same plane at the same time in both sims, or flying different planes at the same time like the PMDG 737 in MSFS 2020 and the Cessna 172 in MSFS 2024? I don't know how that would even work. And what if one of them was a helicopter? Edited August 11, 20232 yr by Stoopy "That's what" - She
