Hmmm... They put iniBuilds A320Neo in SU14 plans. Any traces of the plane in SU14 Beta? I believed it's just a typo.

It's not a typo, Jorg said they were aiming for a SU14 release in the last Q&A.

Plans can change, but remember the ini A310 wasn't in the SU11 beta either, so its absence in the SU14 beta doesn't mean it won't be in SU14.

There's a Dev Q&A on the 29th, so if there's any change we'll probably find out then.

why would a company as large as this with a product with such market uptake, and them pouring more investments into it to double the size of team from ~250 to ~500, attempt to fool their users and 3rd party devs? lol

Because in the end everything they say is subject to change, how could it not be in a complex software environment like MSFS2020/24? The communication serves the need for information from the community as much as MS' interests PR-wise. As I am very much invested in Live Weather development, I have noticed significant discrepancies in the communication of Jorg Neumann.

In Sept. '21 (Q&A from Sept. 29) he said: "Weather for us is a Big Deal. It is something we are heavily, heavily investing in. I think with Meteoblue we have a great partner. Late this year you will get this first Update (remark: SU7), we’re planning on another which will be really awesome when it happens. It will probably be in 2022, it could be as late as 2023. Weather is one of those things. It’s where planes live, it’s got to be awesome. We will get it as good as you can get it. That is really the goal."

This further update never happened.

Instead it took them until 2023 to get liveWeather back to reasonable (without TCU everywhere) after SU7. However, back in Nov. 2022 he announced talks with Meteoblue about data resolution (snow coverage!), WXradar API and “future features” and promised to inform about the outcome in early 2023

This also never happened.

Instead the Q&A in May '23 delivered some vague statements hinting at opening the weather API for third parties, which was sacrosanct from the beginning, followed by the announcement of tornadoes in MSFS 2024 shortly after.

Another example would be the statement of Sebastian Wloch in the Q&A from Nov. '21, where he acknowledged lacking detail in the data available in the sim for snow coverage ("the data is there, but it is not in the sim") and promised improvements after the above mentioned talks with Meteoblue. Guess what - in the latest Q&A he mentioned an error in data units in a previous update and the possibilty of further improvements after possible consultations with Meteoblue.

So I don't share your absolute belief in the honesty of their communication - unfortunately.

That's fair, but I don't share or buy into this silly theory that they are willfully intending to "fool" their customer base (along with 3rd party devs). Precisely due to a complex software system like MSFS and the realities of software development, things change, stuff happens, dates shift, etc etc. But being intentionally dishonest? how does one know that?. In any case, I was responding specifically to the claim they are being dishonest about MSFS 2020 support after MSFS 2024 and apparent lack of communications, so I pointed out all they've said on this matter. That's all we can go by for now, and if stuff doesn't pan out exactly like they say now, I'm still not buying they are knowingly lying now.

Q&A January 2022;

Community question – Any updates on VR?

Jorg – We are going to talk about it next month.

They never did....

Q&A March 2022;

Forum Community Question - When can we expect live weather to be enhanced with more data (aerosols, desert data, pollutants) from Meteoblue?

Jorg - I think you guys have pointed out some of the shortcomings. We know there are issues with the METAR and specifically the visualization of it, too. We want to fix what’s there now before we do a bunch of other stuff. We have gigantic goals for weather. We are going to get different data streams. More data streams, from not just Meteoblue but also from other providers. But let’s take one step at a time. Let’s fix what we have, make sure that it all works, and then do things like that. I’ve wanted a sandstorm since we launched

They've still not fixed it...(METAR bubbles still exist, transitions can still be hard at times etc) but yeah let's focus on sandstorms eh!?

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

It's interesting and sad (both ways) to re read the Q&A from months/years back and see what they say compared to what has actually happened since. An immense amount of hot air and marketing BS surrounded by fantastic insights from Seb, feature partners and stuff.

As ever less talk more work is best, don't say stuff for the sake of it, just do the job and surprise us.

Sorry, no, up with this one I am not prepared to put.

I bow to no one in my disappointment / despair at what happened to the clouds in SU5 onwards and the subsequent non-appearance of the passionately-teased rebirth of the weather system. But I don't believe for a second they knew any of the things teased / suggested / promised wouldn't eventually be doable, or that other things would jump ahead in the queue.

Jorg is clearly very emotionally and professionally invested in this sim, and if one of the side effects of the drive and energy necessary to persuade MS to put the millions they have into it to bring us the single most revolutionary development in the hobby's history is the occasional unrealistic target, we should probably chalk it up to over exuberance rather than dishonesty.

Its not available (accessible) for SU14 beta testers. Other content is.

Just because the iniBuilds A320neo and/or the SR22 aren't in the initial beta builds doesn't mean they won't release with SU14. Also doesn't mean they won't make it into later beta builds. I think like with the 40th anniversary edition the new 3rd party aircraft like the ini A320neo probably won't be in the betas and only in the release, the SR22 has a chance to make it into later beta builds (given that the updated CJ4/Citation/787/etc got into the betas that preceded the AAU releases).

Does it mean the ini A320neo has in house beta testing only?

Yes.  Quite standard for the free add-on planes.  We never got a preview in the planes in the 40th anniversary edition, or game of the year edition either.  No big deal.  It will soon be with us.
