December 9, 20232 yr The slow download pain is real, currently sat at a whopping 2.02mbps trying to grab the World Updates, I've tried changing Ethernet settings, using a VPN, dancing to the internet speed gods, but nothing helps. It has moments of 200+Mbps but then soon drops back to 14.4k modem like days, it's pathetic is what it is. December 9, 20232 yr Strangely I can't remember ever having a problem with the download speed for updates, least nothing as bad as others report. This last one came down at mostly 120-180 mbits/s which seems reasonable to me. I'm in the UK, I don't know whether there is a correlation. Or Is this one of those cases where only those with problems are reporting and most have an ok download speed? (not being rhetorical I genuinely have no idea) Edited December 9, 20232 yr by Lonesome Cowboy Burt added a line

I downloaded the core Sim on Thursday night which took 5 hours or so, thing is I'm able to download other stuff at usual lightning speeds so it's deffo an MS/MSFS server specific issue. Edit: right now 300+Mbps but so far it's taken 2 hours to download 10gb, and as I type back down to 2mpbs. It's fluctuating massively. Pulling over 200Mbs on my new connection. 4.9Gb Vulcan update was about 10 minutes from the Just Flight website. Went into MSFS and the marketplace as I fancied the Savoia S.55 as something different. Download speed 2.5Mbs and it took forever! What the hell is going on with them? December 11, 20232 yr Everything comes down from MSFS servers at over 100mbs for me. Except the first few hours after a WU or SU. I therefore deduce the problem is either a bandwidth error. Or a software error that by a gigantic coincidence happens exactly whenever 100,000's of people are downloading stuff at the same time. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
