Weird shimmering after SU14....

Featured Replies

Hello!

I have uploaded the issue on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SygDZ5K1oQg

So this issue started after updating to SU14, any ideas on how to fix??

When i start the sim, everything is fine... Then, at random (It doesnt happen straight away, very weird....) when i switch from a custom wing view to the cockpit, the weird shimmering starts as you can see.... Then i change something simple in the settings and it goes away... any ideas?

This did not happen before the update...

So to summarize, it does not start like this, my FPS are good, no issues. Then I go to a wing view (custom view), then back to the cockpit and this happens... However, it does not happen everytime, it is very random...

Has anyone had any similar issues?

Nvidia RTX 4070

i9 9900K

32gb RAM

You are using an external frame rate limiter? try turning of frame generation and see if it goes away.

Someone posted the same issue on the official forum: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/nvidia-geforce-game-ready-driver-546-29-discussion/619888/12

It seems it just happens with FG and that turning it off then on fixes it. It may be caused by the latest Nvidia drivers.

I would update my Nvidia drivers and download and install the latest dlls.dll in the msfs content folder and hope that works.  If it doesn't you may have to either accept it as a side effect of FG or turn FG off.  Hope that is of help.

People with the MS Store version cannot update the dlss.dll file.  If someone has figured this out, please tell!

I have the MS Store version and was able to update mine.  I even kept the old one as a backup in case there were any issues with it.

I don't understand how you did this because the file is in the windowsapp folder and is protected.

Where is this?

For the Store Version: C:\XboxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Content

PC: Gigabyte X670 Aorus Elite, AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D, Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4080 Super Aorus Master, DDR5 G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 2X32 GB, Corsair HX 1000, Fractal Torrent, Samsung LC32 / G7 1440P.

As you can see, inside the Microsoft Flight Simulator Content folder.
I think that you might need to upgrade your installation to the latest format.

The only other thing I can think of is your graphics card settings - e.g. antialiasing, antialising transparency, anastrophic filtering.

It happened to me just once on the first flight after the SU14 update. Since then I haven't had the issue anymore, but honestly I didn't change any setting before or after the update.
