December 26, 20232 yr I need to give the 787 a go, but I want to start the best way in MFS, and it's the first simulator I am going to use a 787 in, so, I would really like to be positively impressed ๐ As you may know, I couldn'tย care less for details like the pax cabin, or if they're visible or not just like the pilots, or the pilots, or actually sophisticated graphic details of the fuselage, how it is rendered, if it shows wear / tear...ย I care about the flight dynamics and how it is modelled, the systems modelling, and in such an aircraft how the C*u law and fbw as a whole is modelled, the FMC, the engines and fuel systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics... you see, the kind of details that made me spend a fortune in simulators like Aerowinx PSX and Airlinetools A32x... So, I would be pleased to learn from you which you find would be my best option for a 787 in MFS 2020 ! THANK YOU ! December 26, 20232 yr There's only one option, the WT 787. You can choose the variant, if you want. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Thx for your answer, but I did see mentions to other two options, maybe based on the WT, one of them aparently payware (?), one being an "Horizon 787-9 v1.0" ? They are no other options, they are the variants (and both freeware). Default MSFS comes with the WT 787-10, while there are two mods for the -9 (Horizon) and the -8 (Kuro). But there's no tangible difference in quality or whatever because they use the same cockpit, same FMC, same avionionics etc as the WT 787-10. So just choose whatever variant you want to fly. December 26, 20232 yr I'm confused? Mid-November you posted this in the P3D section when discussing the 737 MAX: "Yes, last aircraft I tried to use with MFS 2020... December 26, 20232 yr At the end of the day these are all default aircraft with freeware mods, you arenโt, I donโtโ think going to get the level of fidelity youโre looking for. I must stress these are still great and Iโm very grateful for the work people have done on them, so donโt take my comments as being negative or disrespectful to the developers involved whoโve donated their time for free. The bits that have been developed are really good, the PFD, ND and HUD are outstanding and very true to life. The FBW protection all seems to be in place and working, auto throttle wake up is there for example. The auto flight can give some rather aggressive pitch angles , and the FLCH button ย is best left well aloneย ย however. Other areas that remain default are just basic inaccurate representations, the tuning and control panel being a prime example, something that would be great to see simulated in the future as it contains a lot of functionality in that little panel. The FMC has functionality for A to B routes but thereโs lots missing, such as engine out selection. Thereโs lots to praise and be grateful for with the 787s but as I said Iโm not sure youโre going to find the fidelity youโre looking for with them. As you may remember the old English phrase I used when discussing the QW 787 on the P3D forum a while ago , these MSFS 787s could also best be described as being a curateโsย egg ! December 26, 20232 yr Author @abrams_tank, @DD_Arthurย and @SierraDelta, by this time "of the year" you all know me just too well.... Penta-Polar I'd say... There's now also Airlinetools A32x, an A320 simulation I am learning to use and profit from... I keep my opinion on P3Dv5.4, the iFly MAX as well as the 3 FSLabs I own, the last - 321 SL - really a joy ! P3d v6.1 also looks and performs GREAT ! Ah! And CONDORSOARING v3 has finally been officially announced and will be released in the next 6 months !!! I sometimes try to stay with one sim only, but it's useless... SU14 is rather good, and I have learned how to close my eyes to what I don't like but believe will be addressed in future versions... I enjoy the PMDG 737, look fwd for thei 777, sometimes try the A2A Comanche, although I confess it is far from being my preferred MFS aircraft. I also really enjoyย the FBW and Fenix recreations of the A320NEO and 320CEO ex-aequo, each for it's own merits, and like the overall functionality of MFS, it's scenery and weather (default)... Out of curiosity if I'm asked to choose among this 2023 acquisitions for flight simulation, which was my preferred, I will say FSHUD, closely followed by all of the Navigraph subscriptions and then ex-aequo, Airlinetools A32x, iFly MAX and the FSLabs A321 SL...ย Also out of curiosity, and totally naked of any bias, or word not allowed-ism... I do think the BEST flight simulation platform presently available is MFS 2020, and I do believe 2024 will be even better - just don't tell me I said this... Ideas come into our mind and we can't simply erase them easily ๐ย as the other guys says .... I also like the Toliss 320NEO, but.... XP12 is never my primary simย ๐ @jon bย and @abrams_tank, thank you for your precious suggestionsย about the pros/cons of the default 787 and it's free variants in MFS ! December 26, 20232 yr I don't know if you finally got the QW 787 or not. I find the WT 787 C*U feels even better than QW (using the default laggy trim assignments).
