January 18, 20242 yr So all was fine and then i cleared dxcache following steps and now on a few flights i've had those texture grids popping in, and same happens with PG. I have tried rolling cache on and off etc, ultra everything. Some areas its not so bad, and i have been flying new routes so maybe just never noticed it. Does anyone else have this experience? I've seen it before and cases on youtube back 9 months ago, just weird it happened after DXcache clear out. You can see as you fly out of airport big chunks of texture just pop n as you move towards them, very odd. Ryzen 5 3600 / RTX 2070 8GB / 2x8 RAM/

They have fixed it in limited areas, such as Malta. They detected it is a problem with two different data sets being displayed at different LOD levels supplied by the Bing map server. It doesn't happen everywhere, but when you do see it, it is very annoying. Contrary to some reports, flushing the DX cache (which is a fairly useless exercise anyway if you do read deeply into it), will not solve it, and I don't see how people can think that it will anyway when it has been detected as a server / data / LOD issue. As for rolling cache, unless you are on extremely limited bandwidth, I would ignore it. It has been known to cause stuttering and other problems after updates if there is a data mismatch. January 18, 20242 yr It might be worth doing a poll and finding out how many people have this problem. I haven't had it for over a year now - others continue to suffer it. Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org

For example go to LSZB and fly around in its vicinity, you will instantly see it (of course not, if you fly at 30'000ft...). Only "solution": use the map enhancement tool from flightsim.to and use bing latest or google ground textures instead of the default ones. I'm referring to when you see parts of the runway and/or taxiway concrete missing, and grass/earth textures instead. Those spurious grass textures were there upon spawning, and remained unchanged while flying round the area. You even used to get those at places like EGSU Duxford, and I was advised at that time to start clearing the Direct X cache, which did resolve the issue. On the other hand, on a trip from England to Australia, with a total of 24 stops, I never saw any pop-in textures either. I'll stand back from this. I do not have this issue (so far !) . On some flights, anywhere in the world, new texture squares progressively pop up along the flight covering existing textures. It was weird on my Corsican flight as a dull sat imagery was covered by the same textures but with a brighter greenish tint, square after square, when passing above. Like if Winter textures were changed by Spring ones. If I remember correctly, it started happening when DX12 came along. Then again, at my age, there's very little that I remember correctly.
