January 27, 20251 yr Author Seems I have to use (again) the chainsaw. Actually, it's more a switching trees to shrub process. I remembered testing and practising this approach. Maybe was I too much practising steep approach 😉 Let me have a second look. Need to adapt MSFS2020 and MSFS2024 vegetation. And it takes ages to boot one after the other the two versions 😉 I was secretely hoping that SU1 woud reduce the tree-fest. Edited January 27, 20251 yr by vbazillio Vincent B. I was also hoping for less trees since SU1 but they're taking over the sim. By SU2 we won't be able to see anything 🙂 Chillblast Core i5 14600KF Liquid Cooled RTX 4070 SUPER 32GB RAM. January 27, 20251 yr Author Two times... two ambiances. As I was looking at videos, maps.google and Bing.map, I saw that they were different "trees" or scrubs. Will try to do something that - at least - free the short approach. Vincent B. Check my free MSFS sceneries : https://flightsim.to/profile/vbazillio/trending and my hardware configuration.
January 27, 20251 yr Author It doesn't look quite right ;( Vincent B. Check my free MSFS sceneries : https://flightsim.to/profile/vbazillio/trending and my hardware configuration.
January 27, 20251 yr I feel awful now with you spending all this time over it! That does look different but at least the final approach is clear of trees. (No doubt someone will now complain that it's missing trees ;)) Chillblast Core i5 14600KF Liquid Cooled RTX 4070 SUPER 32GB RAM. Internet: 1 Gig Fibre. HoneyComb Throttle & Flight System. January 28, 20251 yr Author Don't worry 😉 It's all driven by passion. As soon as it gets into a work or a job requirement, I would stop right away 😉 These morning tests (CET) updating on MSFS2020 and MSFS2024 were not conclusive at all ;( Vincent B. January 28, 20251 yr Author I didn't progress much. I didn't find anything 100% suitable. All I can do for now is this TEST version : TEST-vbcorp-airport-kpvf-placerville-v2.0.2-280125-22h00.zip (not yet available on flightsim.to). Can MSFS2024 have a look and share a feedback regarding trees anymore on flight path to runway 23? Thank you in advance. Vincent B. January 28, 20251 yr Downloading now..👍 Chillblast Core i5 14600KF Liquid Cooled RTX 4070 SUPER 32GB RAM. Internet: 1 Gig Fibre. HoneyComb Throttle & Flight System. UK PPL since 2006 current on PA-28, C-152, C172, Decathlon, C-42 based at EGHP.
January 28, 20251 yr Personally - I prefer it. Looks good and quite natural and allows a safe distance between the scrub tops and the landing zone. My landing was much shorter in the default 172 in this version. Nil wind custom preset. Thanks for spending time on this. It is an excellent airfield for practising touch and goes with fantastic scenery. Word of warning to anyone using a piston aircraft at this airfield. Make sure to lean your mixture for max RPM before taking off - it's around 2500 ASL. Edited January 28, 20251 yr by TrafficPilot Chillblast Core i5 14600KF Liquid Cooled RTX 4070 SUPER 32GB RAM. January 30, 20251 yr Author Thanks for the feedback. Without any other negative input, I'll considere this version OK and will published it on flightsim.co ASAP. Thanks again! Placerville will be in the next batch update of their map. They may have skipped it by mistake 🙂 The download figures will raise up 🙂 ! Vincent B. January 30, 20251 yr Just updated my existing file if yours yesterday. Definitely improved for MS2024--thanks so much for all your hard work. It does seem that the trees on final for runway 5 are a bit high. Not as high as those to the side of them but still requiring a steep approach. https://www.mediafire.com/view/dz3buh31pti9cej/BoeingDriverSignature.jpg/file
January 31, 20251 yr Author v2.0.2 update is now live with some chainsaw work done on both threshold runways for MSFS2024. I'm still in hope that MSFS2024 gets updated to tune the quantity and type of trees just around the airfield. Thank you all for your feedback. https://flightsim.to/file/67811/placerville-airport-kpvf Edited January 31, 20251 yr by vbazillio Vincent B.
