Speaking of new versions, I have been working on a small update to 0.4.3.0 over the last week with @Cpt_Piett that is now at a release candidate stage. 0.4.3.1-RC1 can be downloaded here. Feedback on any issues encountered, particularly with the additions/changes made, before formal release in a few days will be much appreciated.

Executive summary of changes since 0.4.3.0:

  • Added an automatic TLOD reduction at night option.
  • Improved TLOD Min/Base + and TLOD Max/Top + functionality.
  • Added support for an MSFS2020-specific profile with Lossless Scaling.
  • Added GPU-Z controllable cloud quality reduction in non-expert mode.
  • Updated UI and logging with revised functionality.

Great idea to use a lower tLod at Night as all the lights can bring the framerate down.

How much does tLod go down it the box is checked ?

TLOD Max halves. TLOD can still range freely up the new lower TLOD Max, but it won't go over it.

Sounds like you'd be best off taking this up with the mobiflight developer if this is happening.

@Reset XPDR

Last post, looks like this is the MSFS wasm curse.  Further research on this indicates this is probably a corrupted MSFS install issue, which would be fixed by a complete reinstall.  I can find no evidence that its an AutoFPS issue so wont clog up the forum here with any further posts.  Thankyou for the excellent freeware and support!

Just to confirm, I completely uninstalled and reinstalled the sim.  The AutoFPS installer ran perfectly 🙂

This is the result from starting the app, seeing 0.4.3.0 and that an update was available.  Updated from within the app.  Now this is what I see.  0.4.3.0 and latest app version is installed.

I thought you were talking about 0.4.3.1-RC1, as that was what the message you quoted was referring to.

I'd say your previous version was one of the 0.4.3.0 release candidates eg. RC3 and that the app was telling you to update to the 0.4.3.0 formal release, which is considered newer.

In any case, 0.4.3.0 is the latest formal release and that is what you are running and, from your screenshot, the app is not telling you to update, so I am not seeing an issue.

OK, vs previous experience with this I am confused.  Will now follow the link to 3.1 aside from the app's indications.  Thank you for clarifying.

Admittedly, I don't mention in the readme how test build updates work with update notifications as it is not a thing a normal user experiences.

To summarise the update notification process:

  • If you are on a formal release version, you will only be notified of an update for a newer formal release with a higher version number. eg. 04.2.16 -> 0.4.3.0
  • If you are on a test version, which includes release candidate versions, you will also be notified of an update to a newer formal release with the same version number as your test version, minus the test or release candidate annotation eg. 0.4.3.1-RC1 -> 0.4.3.1
