Is this at a particular location or everywhere? What are your settings? A log file of an offending flight would be helpful.

Edit: Just thinking a bit more about this, AutoFPS wouldn't be communicating with MSFS as you touch the ground as it would have locked TLOD and OLOD at your Alt TLOD Min which must be at least 100 feet, so it is very unlikely the AutoFPS app itself but could be different MSFS settings it has chosen for you.

The only things that come to mind that could cause such a freeze is that your TLOD and/or OLOD are/is too high, possibly the former if you are using the updated TLOD Min + and haven't changed any other setting. Another possibility is that your ground traffic is set very high and apparently that refreshes as your wheels touch the ground, but that would only occur if you changed your ground traffic setting recently.

Thanks for putting this together. It's great to see AutoFPS being used by someone else as it gives me a different perspective on how to use it. In fact, watching your landing showed there is still a bit of polish required for night mode for the TLOD Min that it gets to (it went slightly below your set TLOD Min of 25 to 23 and I know how to fix it), but it otherwise looked like it was behaving for the rest of the flight, which is good.

Hi just updated my pc with new cpu etc and reinstalling everything after a fresh Windows install.  I was running MSFS_AutoFPS-installer-v0.4.3.0-RC2 fine but see a notification that an update is available.  Click the link and download MSFS_AutoFPS-installer-v0.4.3.0 but it fails to do anything when I try to run the installer.  Nothing happens, no warnings, no pop ups.  No antivirus installed as yet except the default Defender.  I have tried running as an Administrator but no change

Whenever I install an AutoFPS version, I get a Defender warning and have to confirm that I want to install. I also disable antivirus in advance then re-enable after installing.

Ive not received any warnings. Event Viewer also appears to show nothing.

I get an installation dialog for 0.4.2 and also 0.4.3.0-RC2.

I am really unsure what the issue is.

UPDATE: I had been looking into the security settings and after many failed attempts earlier to install the mod I switched Smart App Control off.  This was a mistake because I failed to see the warning that the only way to switch it back on was to install Windows again.  I ran a System Restore which took me back to yesterday but now I couldnt get into the security options.  After some Googling I found forums and one post had a Powershell command which worked.  Got back into options and Smart App Control had reset back to Evaluation Mode as default.  Mod still wouldnt install.  Switched Smart App Control to ON and installer now pops up

 

UPDATE 2: Starting to get extremely frustrated.  Cant change the App control back to Evaluative. It wont let me now install Authentikit Tuning App msi file which I need to use alongside Vjoy to get the Honeycomb trim wheel working better.  Turned Smart App to OFF to I assume remove all control and allow all apps to install.  Didnt work.  I now cannot even re-run the AutoFPS installer I had trouble with earlier.  Ive spent 2.5 days trying to get my system up running and scared to format it yet again.  I dont know what is blocking the installers.  No notifications anywhere!

This issue sometimes happened when this app first came out over six months ago when SmartScreen was blocking it because the app was so new. The fix outlined in the readme resolved it for everyone that encountered it, as far as I am aware, namely:

• If the installer will not run at all, Windows SmartScreen is potentially blocking it because the app is so new. The solution to try is:
  • Right-click on the Installer and select properties
  • Check the option "Unblock"
  • Click on Apply and Ok to save the change
  • Then try to install it again

 

In any case, apart from the installable content, there were no changes to the installer between those two versions so it is strange that it is suddenly being blocked. Make sure the downloaded file properties look like below and that you are not seeing a SmartScreen warning on this tab:

Will this work with MSFS2024 ? It sounds like a good option for those of us on lesser machines.

That error comes up if one of the app files is open or locked by another process, so the unzipping process can't overwrite that file. Make sure AutoFPS isn't already running when you run the installer. Try restarting your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

MSFS2024 will have AutoFPS-like functionality built into it. My intention is to only update this app for MSFS2024 if their implementation is badly broken and they don't do anything to fix it.

Autofps was uninstalled previously, the app isnt running.  Rebooted and ran installer straight away, still getting same error I'm afraid.  Installer reports Error while extracting Mobiflight Module.

The Mobiflight module gets extracted to your MSFS Community folder, so something in there is locking your current Mobiflight files. It could be a permissions issue, so try running the installer as admin.

Failing that, try manually downloading the updated Mobiflight module here and extract it into your MSFS community folder, then run the AutoFPS installer.

For anyone having unsolvable AutoFPS installation issues, download the app files here and manually extract and copy to your AutoFPS directory %appdata%\MSFS2020_AutoFPS\bin.

Ran as admins to begin with.   Nope, still doesn't like it.  Same error.  Downloaded the app files and manually extracted.  Many thanks for that.
