NO I don't have it

The Steam version question was directed at me. So are you saying you don't have a legacy MSFS install? Did you check like the website shows?

Correct, checked, not a legacy install

What about the \localstate\packages\ folder - should there be anything in there?

Yes. When you ran MSFS after manually putting the mobiflight-event-module in your Community folder, it should have created a mobiflight-event-module folder under Packages.

I still don't understand why your MSFS folder is hidden. If not legacy mode that set it, did you set it that way?

Well other than un-hiding it and seeing if that makes any difference, I am currently out of ideas.

ok, after unhiding and making not read only, theinstaller has now managed to overwrite part of the community folder mobiflight module

It has unpacked the ContentInfo folder, but nothing else

Has still given the same error during installation

One last shot. What if you try manually installing Mobiflight into your community and try again.

Personally do not have time to keep up with this thread that continues to expand so rapidly. Have been a faithful adopter since the early days and have settled in nicely, where setting appear to carry forward from version to version. A godsend itself. Is there a method to notify loyal users in a message thread or other channel of just the advisement of actual updates?  Just a notice of updates only?

Yes, this thread has become a bit overactive lately. In future, I intend taking support issues either to PM or to the issue section of my github page if they take more than one response to resolve.

To answer your question though, yes there is a simple way to be notified of an app update - the app itself tells you when it starts up. eg.

Just click on the word "here" and you will be taken to the download page for the updated app.

Well I appreciate that. Please note that alert is always advising of a newer update even though I have had that update for about a week.  So I have just been ignoring the alert.

Are you absolutely sure you are on the latest version? Your version number at the top should look EXACTLY like this and the status message will show you have the latest version:

image.png?ex=66fb0caa&is=66f9bb2a&hm=ff0

If you are running an older formal release version, older test version or even a release candidate version with the same primary version number as the current release version, as shown below, you are not on the latest release and should update as advised by the app.
