December 13, 20241 yr Author Just an FYI, following some housekeeping and memory test updates the app is now up to Test version 16, which should be close to the final release version. If you are running an earlier test version without issues, there is no need to update but I would appreciate it if a few adventurous types update to Test 16 and confirm I didn't break anything while cleaning things up. Thanks. https://github.com/ResetXPDR/MSFS2020_AutoFPS/releases/tag/v0.4.3.2-test Edited December 13, 20241 yr by Reset XPDR 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11

December 13, 20241 yr Hi again Reset XPDR, I'm sticking with MSFS 2020 for a while. If I update to the newest version of AutoFPS, can you confirm that I don't need to do anything to keep using it with MSFS 2020? Or are there any paths or settings that need to be changed? Thanks.
December 13, 20241 yr It does not work for me. Neither does Dynamic LOD. Both have the same problem. It runs one time only. After that it will not display the app window ever again under any circumstances. If I delete the app and reinstall it, then it works. One time only. Until its closed. After than it will never display on the monitor. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Generally, in your situation I would not bother changing to the new version until you get 2024 as it is functionally identical to 0.4.3.1 so it doesn't really offer you anything other than being 2024-ready and, as currently implemented, you have to redo your settings from scratch. Having said that I just had the thought that if users like you don't upgrade, they are going to be nagged that there is a new version available every time they start the app, so it is probably best I do get everyone to upgrade and when they do the installer should copy their old 2020 settings across to the new app and uninstall the old one automatically (what could possibly go wrong? 🤣) so that there is a clean change over to the new app. I'll think about this some more and see if it is realistic and can be done with extremely high confidence I won't nuke old configs. Edit: Abbreviated response based on your similar questions in the Dynamic LOD thread: Clicking X does not close the app, it sends it to the system tray and the app remembers that the next time it opens so that's where it will be. December 14, 20241 yr Author This thread has been silent for the last day or so and I'm hoping that means there are no more major issues with the latest test builds, so I'm getting very close to formally releasing it. The feedback to date has been pretty much exclusively about MSFS 2024 and I haven't really heard from anyone whether have tried the new app with MSFS 2020. I have been still using it with 2020 all week, and it has worked fine as it always has, but I'm wondering if anyone else has that can provide feedback on 2020 use ?? Today I have been tinkering with the new app's installer and believe I have come up with a way to handle existing users of the old 2020 app and/or users of the test new app or new users of the new app when released. Basically, it will work as follows: Old app only installed - install newest new app with fresh 2024 config, copy old 2020 config across to new app, uninstall old app Old app and new app test version installed - update to newest new app retaining 2024 config, give option to copy old 2020 config to new app otherwise use existing 2020 config, uninstall old app New app test version only installed - update to newest new app retaining 2020 and 2024 configs Nothing installed - install newest new app with fresh 2020 and 2024 configs I've managed to get the old app to uninstall cleanly, removing all files, any autostart options and the desktop icon. ie. once the new app is installed, there will be no remnants of the old app and we move on from there. Fixes will only be done in the new app, even if 2020 specific. Anyway, that's the grand plan. If anyone can see any major holes in this strategy, please let me know before I launch in a day or so's time and I'll tweak as necessary. If none of this make sense, when the new app is formally released just hit install/update/upgrade when you run the installer and trust in the process! 😂 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11

December 14, 20241 yr Just installed the RC1 and all seems to be working well in MSFS2024, thanks for all your efforts in making this compatible as I would never fly without it in 2020. Does seem like the TLOD is less of a bottleneck for me now in 24 compared to 20, as I’ve had scenarios where the TLOD wouldn’t increase (and correctly so according to my settings), but manually increasing the TLOD minimum to a higher level would not have an impact on FPS despite increasing LOD. Also at 400 TLOD I’m still having blurry textures - again nothing the app can do about unfortunately, but does feel something has changed in the way MSFS2024 works compared to 2020 in terms of overall quality. Best regards, Alexander Rietveld
December 14, 20241 yr I am trying ton install 0.4.4.0 and can't get it installed running into an error as below. Anyone here to help? .NET 7 Desktop Runtime x64 is installed from MS Download .NET 7.0 (Linux, macOS, and Windows)

To include an imgur link, upload the image to imgur, right-click on the image, open in new tab. Then use that URL here. Did you try to install .NET 7 manually? These are the .NET installed on my system by the way (Win11): I'm sure Reset will know exactly what's going on - but I think it's 4AM or something where he is. See readme to resolve." MSFS2020, store version. Please, do you know how to make it work? Thanks a lot. Do you get this message if you run the original MSFS2020_AutoFPS app, latest version 0.4.3.1 and available here https://github.com/ResetXPDR/MSFS2020_AutoFPS/releases/download/v0.4.3.1/MSFS_AutoFPS-installer-v0.4.3.1.exe? If so, have you done the first two steps the steps about this error message in the readme, namely: There is an issue with permissions and you may need to run the app as Administrator. This is by far the most likely cause and resolution. You may have changed MSFS settings in your usercfg.opt file beyond what is possible to set in the MSFS settings menu. To rectify, go into MSFS settings at the main menu and reset to default (F12) the graphics settings for both PC and VR mode, then make all changes to MSFS within the MSFS settings menu. Finally, if still having the issue, message me your log file from RC1, located in %appdata%\MSFS_AutoFPS\log and we'll take it from there. 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11

You are welcome! Re 2024 TLOD behaviour, to be honest I haven't actually looked at how the app is managing TLOD in 2024 other than to make sure that it is being read correctly and changing when commanded to. If there is any tweaking needed to the management algorithm, then you are best off requesting it to @kayjay1c6bfor his MSFS2024_AutoFPS app as he will be continuing to develop his with 2024 whereas mine is planned to stay as is. 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
