Are you aware this is how FSUIPC was created many years ago? It takes a very clever person to disassemble a executable and analyse the contents. The original UIPC was created by Adam Zofran and then P

Is it possible to configure MSFS 2024 settings without starting MSFS 2024 ?

I can configure MSFS 2020 settings without starting MSFS 2020

Test version 13 has been released which does what you requested. https://github.com/ResetXPDR/MSFS2020_AutoFPS/releases/tag/v0.4.3.2-test

Test 13:

  • Repurposed Reset button to switch between 2020 and 2024 config file settings when the app is waiting for a sim version to be running.
  • Once a sim is running the button reverts to being Reset and will function as it always has. The app config then will lock to the running sim version.

I have been using your app for a long time now in FS20 and now in FS24. It is working perfectly in FS24, so I want to say a massive thank you for making the app available for FS24.

After recovering from today's 2024 update, I have now hopefully configured the memory compatibility test to survive future updates, but even if it doesn't I can fix it within a few hours of finding out about it.

As of test 13, that's pretty much all I was planning on doing to the app at this time, which was to get it doing exactly what it did in 2020 but with 2024 also, all under the same app. I'll give it a few more days to see if any other gremlins appear, but otherwise I plan to formally release this updated version over the weekend.

Thanks to everyone who has participated in trialing the test versions. Your feedback has been instrumental in getting the app quickly to the stable state that I believe it currently is.

This can happen if you did not close the installer window when you finished installing or if you have one of the other AutoFPS apps autostart and minimise to the system tray. Did you resolve this because I have double checked the code for this and it looks correct to me? If not. which specific version of AutoFPS did the app say was already running (MSFS, MSFS2020, or MSFS2024)?

Other than maintaining MSFS version compatibility, I am not planning any further updates for my version at this time so if you want new features kayJay's app is the one to use.

Actually, the problem is when you run it the first time after installation. Then, closing AutoFPS from the tray does not close it really - in the taskmgr you can see 5 background processes running. Subsequent runs behave normally. Thanks a mountain for doing this!

Perfect. However, when starting the app before MSFS 2024 starts seems not working, the session keeps in red (not connecting). Is it a proper practice to start the app after MSFS 2024 session is started?

No, it shouldn't matter whether you start the app before or after MSFS. Can you please message me the log file and I'll take a look.

My bad. It works just fine. Right after I enter the cockpit, the session turns green. I also deleted the older versions. Is it normal to have 50 TLOD when the LSFG FPS is at constant 48 at 8000-10000 feet (IFR mode)

The session should be green if you are in walk around mode before getting in the cockpit. It should turn green and stay green from when you click on Ready to Fly up until you select End Flight. If it is not, tell me specifically what camera view it is happening with and I'll take a look.

It depends on what your other settings are. Post a screenshot if you can, but if you need to mess around to host the image just post the contents of your relevant config file (ie. 2020 or 2024) and I'll try to decode it manually.

How do I delete this app from my system? I tried to find a way to uninstall it, then just deleted the .exe file. But it still pops up with an error message.

Run the installer and click the Remove button.

Just one tiny thing, how should we set the Asobo's 'dynamic setting' in the msfs2024 settings, on or off!?

It automatically turns the in-sim off IIRC.

Further to what @Historysays, the app saves your original dynamic settings (PC and VR), turns them off automatically while AutoFPS is running the show, then restores them when it is finished. In other words, it doesn't matter what they are set to in MSFS 2024.
