Also I see two config files in the apps root folder, but also in the bin folder. Some clarity please?? Yes, it is now one app for both MSFS2020 & MSFS2024, hence the name change from MSFS2020_AutoFPS to MSFS_AutoFPS. Per the following summary of the test notes, which will appear in the release notes and be updated in the readme: Added MSFS 2024 compatibility Installs in a separate MSFS_AutoFPS directory than the original MSFS2020_AutoFPS app under your user's roaming profile. Automatically detects which MSFS version you are running, 2020 or 2024 and Steam or MS Store, and will use the appropriate separate MSFS 2020 and 2024 config and log files. If you want to use your MSFS2020_AutoFPS config from your previous use with the MSFS2020_AutoFPS app, just copy it over the top of the MSFS2020_AutoFPS in the root directory of the MSFS_AutoFPS app. No need to keep MSFS2020_AutoFPS installed as this updated app will still work as it did in MSFS2020 and you can't run both at the same time anyway. Can be installed even if you have kayjay1c6b's MSFS2024_AutoFPS app installed and will not conflict with settings or log files in either app. The only stipulation is that you can't run both at the same time, but this app will check for that on startup. MSFS 2024 Dynamic Setting will be automatically disabled when AutoFPS is controlling MSFS settings and will return to existing status when finished. As with MSFS 2020, the app's session will remain active when accessing the MSFS 2024 menu and settings while in a flight and also when using walk around mode, photo mode, and free look mode. AutoStart install option AutoStart for exe.xml is now functional for MSFS 2024 in addition to MSFS 2020. If no exe.xml file exists for either MSFS version, one will automatically be created and configured for autostart. DynamicLOD_ResetEdition will also receive a similar update this week. December 9, 20241 yr Just a silly little question here (well, I feel silly as I should probably know this): When using auto TLOD mode, there is no target FPS. So I guess AutoFPS just sets TLOD based on the altitude? But how does it prevent TLOD going way too high and consequently the performance takes a hit? EDIT: Oh dear, I forgot there's a very detailed readme. Sorry! Quote Auto TLOD - functions similar to Auto OLOD by using an altitude schedule and is best for when using system FPS caps. TLOD will adjust based on an altitude band with a base and top level and with TLOD values defined for each of these altitudes. Edited December 9, 20241 yr by Cpt_Piett 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

Yes AutoFPS does just set TLOD based on altitude and no it will not prevent a performance drop if you set your TLOD too high. It was intentionally implemented this way a long time ago for those running FPS caps that should never be breached, such as those using v-sync or VR users using motion reprojection, to be similar to DynamicLOD_ResetEdition and give a fixed TLOD at a given altitude AGL. When setting your TLOD range in this mode, the idea is to be conservative so that only very rarely would your system breach this cap. Recently TLOD Min + was implemented for the other modes, which I know you have been using, and this gives you extra TLOD Min on the ground when performance conditions are favourable. TLOD Base + is the equivalent implementation for Auto TLOD mode, offering an FPS target this time, but differs slightly in that it lifts the entire TLOD range up by the TLOD Extra but is much quicker to take it away should the FPS cap be breached. I have been using AutoTLOD exclusively with my VR flying with an FPS cap for motion reprojection for many months now and it works very well. In your use case, I'd stick with the other two modes as you don't need to run such a tight FPS cap tolerance. 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11

I believe I have fixed the issue with 2024 where the session disconnected when going to the MSFS menu while in a flight, which was resetting your app settings when resuming your flight. The app now behaves as it did with 2020 with regards to session connections and maintaining them. For those trying out the test versions, make sure you update to at least test version 7 to see this fix in action. Latest version is here https://github.com/ResetXPDR/MSFS2020_AutoFPS/releases/tag/v0.4.3.2-test Further to the session disconnect exclusion functionality mentioned above, I have identified a few more camera modes that need adding to the exclusion list so as not to unnecessarily reset the app's session when performing normal activities while in a flight. The full list of exclusions is now: Walk around mode, Photo mode, Free look mode, Transition to in flight menu, In flight menu, and Settings while in flight. These exclusions are available from test version 9 and onwards that you can download here https://github.com/ResetXPDR/MSFS2020_AutoFPS/releases/tag/v0.4.3.2-test Let me know if there are any more that I need to include or if they are not working as they should. I just wanted to add that the main reason I prefer to lock FPS, is that the sim runs a bit smoother (less frame time variance / better frame time consistency). 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

It sers told based on altitude but can lower the told due to fps drop. I agree that auto told works well but now that I modified it I can see quite often it lowers told due to fps. Maybe it's because I have medium range pc.

Just finishing up the first test version of DynamicLOD_ResetEdition right now. So far it is working in 2024 and I'm just checking to see it still works in 2020 😄. I should have the test version out in the next 24 hrs. I will put a post in the DynamicLOD_ResetEdition thread to announce it when it is available. December 9, 20241 yr MSFS24 (MS Store): I've had a couple of flights with test version 7 and I'm pleased to say that it works great again (VFR/IFR non-expert mode). Much more useful than the native dynamic settings. Thanks a lot, Reset! Edit: But I'm a little dismayed that we've had to resort again to a third-party tool on such an important matter, which is clearly a more refined solution than the official one. This is quite alarming, because it only shows two things: either they don't know how to do it at Asobo (I doubt it), or they do, but they don't care enough. December 9, 20241 yr I'm not surprised that it took a third party developer, specifically this one, to repair something that ASOBO should fix. AutoFPS has been one of those essential add-ons for MSFS 2020 that I've been raving about because it added more to improve my sim's performance than when I upgraded my computer. When I re-install 2024, this will be the first add on that I'll try. Thanks @Reset XPDR for your contribution to our community. MSFS
