MSFS Auto FPS App

FYI, for users trying the new Dynamic FG option in 0.5.2.0, please note that you should use MSFS, not RTSS, as the FPS source as it provides the NFR FPS required for this mode. RTSS provides post-FG FPS, which will conflict with your NFR-based Target FPS. For now you will have to manually change back to MSFS if you were using RTSS as your FPS source, but only for Dynamic FG specifically. ie:

This should affect very few, if any, users as you would need to be using both RTSS as FPS source and Dynamic FG together. Nonetheless, it will be automatically enforced in 0.5.3.0 when it is released in the future. The online 0.5.2.0 readme has also been updated with this advice.

Are you aware this is how FSUIPC was created many years ago? It takes a very clever person to disassemble a executable and analyse the contents. The original UIPC was created by Adam Zofran and then P

Thanks a lot for the great work.

What you’ve given us here is simply perfect.

I do have a question, though.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

Now, unfortunately, the app no longer starts automatically with MSFS2024 or FSUIPC. Is there a trick to this?

I can't get it to work; I always have to start the app manually.

Are you are aware that you can auto update the app, without having to first manually uninstall the old version and lose your settings, through the update options in the app when it first starts up? If not, I strongly recommend you do it that way in future. Here is what it would have shown with Prompted Updates option selected. Clicking on Yes would auto install it and keep your existing settings:

In any case, what is done is done so to fix your issue all you have to do is run the 0.5.2.0 installer again and this time selection which auto-start option you want before clicking on the update button. ie for a MSFS 2024-only install with an MSFS auto-start, set it like this:

Which specific setting can you not find?

The only setting you might not see is the option for auto-start for MSFS 2020 if you do not have that MSFS version installed, otherwise every other option there should be present. Make sure you click on MSFS under auto-start to expose which MSFS versions you want to apply auto-start to.

If you are still not finding it, post up a screenshot of your installer window if you can.

Thanks a lot for the help.

I’ve been using the app since it was first released.

I’m also very familiar with the update methods.

However, the auto-start feature unfortunately isn't working.

I’ve tried everything, but the app just won't start automatically.

It only works manually—which isn't a problem, strictly speaking—but I’d prefer auto-start.

I started to use the Nexus Mod to enable 4x frame gen on my 4090 some months ago and I would never fly without anymore. But somehow I am gain at a total loss regarding the proper setup of AutoFPS for my IFR flights in regard of this. I have my FPS capped at 36 in the sim, I have dynamic settings turned on with the setting at 35FPS. No external limiter anymore. Do I use the auto mode for this setup? The current .dll from Nexus Mods limits the FPS after frame generation not to 144 (as you could guess when fixing them at 36, as 4x 36 equals 144), but at 136. Dont ask me why, according to a single reply on Nexus Mods it is normal if nVIDIA Reflex is used (which is on in my sim).

Greetings, Chris

I am yet to come across a case where all installer options are not present. Also, auto-start has not been touched for a couple of app versions now, so nothing has changed in that regard in this latest version.

You need to answer my questions re what specific installer option is missing that is not otherwise able to be exposed by clicking on the appropriate radio button before I can help you any further.

Try Man FG 4X, Manual Target FPS of 125 and adjust from there. That will give it some headroom below your 136 cap and should work fine.

You’ve misunderstood something there.

All the installation options are available.

Unfortunately, the auto-start feature no longer works—neither with FSUIPC nor with MSFS 2024. I don't understand it myself.

My app has updated to 0.5.2.0

However, I seem to have lost the threshold setting for spike detection? Was that removed please?

Doesnt matter if the number is not evenly dividable through 4? Or should I use 128 instead?

Sorry, I think I have mixed a few conversations together and I have confused things. It is late where I am and I am not in a position to respond properly now. I will have another go tomorrow. My apologies everyone!
