April 8, 20242 yr Commercial Member Hello all! I am LOVING FG with my new 4070TI Super, however, when I have FG ON and FPS locked at 60 I get jitters in lights where panning around. They take a second or so to settle. These jitters happen on the Fenix A320 displays as well. VSYNC is set to off. Would anyone know why this is happening? Thanks! April 9, 20242 yr Try turning V-Sync on in NCP and turn it off in the sim. BUT before turning it off in the sim, set the in-sim refresh rate to 50% then turn V-Sync off. I also have a 4070TiS and this works well. I don’t put a frame limit in place but I am using a G-Sync monitor. So maybe if that still does not work, try keeping the settings I suggest but removing the frame limit. I’m using DX12 with DLSS Quality and updated dll files which may, or may not make much difference to smoothness. Night flying is great , not noticed by what you are describing, even with Track IR. April 9, 20242 yr If you have a fps display on, and a hotkey, try turning it off and back on. That can cause jitters sometimes. I see no jitters when panning. 4070 FG on. TLOD 300 OLD 200. DLSS Quality. fps is 74 sitting at London City payware airfield on default runway. Night or day, no jitters. Nothing odd about the lights flickering when panning. I mapped the mouse panning commands to a hat which I flick left or right to pan around continuously for as long as I want. BTW, before using the dlss mod I could not set TLOD at 300. I used 160 or 200 depending on the scenery density. Because stutters would happen. EDIT: I'm also in the latest beta, which reduces stutters as well. EDIT: I also use every "miracle" tweak I ever see on Youtube. Even if they don't seem to help. I think over time they all add up to an improvement. I don't remember how many I have applied. I seem to get better performance than others report with similar hardware. It causes shimmering for me on lights that should be always on, only for scenery. I think it has to do with the actual FG tech, because it’s basically interpolating frames and might not know what to do with the light.
April 9, 20242 yr Moderator May not be the same thing but when I am in external mode with the mini panel displayed, any movement at all will cause the panel display to bounce all over. No problem with internal views, just external. Sometimes I'm lazy and taxi in external mode for visibility but the jumping panels make it a tad annoying. 3090 w FG RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
April 9, 20242 yr If you turn the preset to Low End and both LODs down to 10, then you might be able to know if the jitters are performance related, or coming from another cause. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. April 9, 20242 yr My own experience is that, whenever you see jitters or stutters when using a high-end graphics card, the culprit is often limitations of the display hardware (monitor or TV) rather than problems with the computer or sim. Remember, displays can suffer jitters and stutters on their own, particularly when their refresh rate can't keep up with video card output. April 9, 20242 yr Author Commercial Member It's hard to see on the video but see how ONLY the PFD and ND has some sort of little jitters? After moving it takes one second for them to disappear. It's only when panning/moving around. Everything else is smooth. https://streamable.com/4edp5a Edited April 9, 20242 yr by iFlySimX Discord | YouTube | iFly Schedules 34" Odyssey OLED G8 175Hz | 3440X1440 | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | PNY VERTO OC GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER 16 GB | G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 | Asus ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI ATX AM5 | Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 | ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III 56.3 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler | Fractal Design North XL ATX Full Tower Case
April 9, 20242 yr I don't own the Fenix. So I used the Asobo A320neo. Set up two custom views. One was the default reset view. The other was zoomed in on the PFD. Switching back and forth between these 2 custom views produced no jitters at all on the PFD. Suspect when you change FG of it's ok Easy to test just disable FG from the menu graphics MSFS and test Which AA and DLSS setting do you use? Edited April 9, 20242 yr by virtualstuff André
