Video of worst stuttering yet. SU15 or something else?

Featured Replies

Been doing some test recordings that happen to coincide with SU15 release.

Yesterday at the end of a fun and smooth flight had pretty much sim implosion on final.

Here is the preceding flight and awful stutter landing:

Here is full edition of landing/taxi and some live fault diagnosis.

Using:

PMDG 737-900

Active Sky

FSTL

FShud (using performance option - less traffic below 50 fps none below 30)

AutoFPS (which I believed crashed when flight started so could not be reason for sudden approach problems.

Scenery was default YPAD Adelaide, SA.

I ran an ultra smooth flight the day before in the LearJet FSW no issues at airport at all. That's also on my YT but I think 2 videos is enough for one post!

EDIT: off to fly tonight starting at YPAD to continue my tour round Australian coast. I'm not expecting any issues starting there actually.

EDIT: ok it IS Adelaide. Took an age to load then stuttering 5fps if that parked with Duke. Well I HOPE it is will try another place and report back.

Nearby airport YPPF the same. Now to go another area nowhere near Adelaide.

OK YLLT far enough away to get 30/60 fps back.

Was getting worried then...

Did 3 flights. In the air fine. On the ground stutters everywhere. Only used tiny strips.

Might try different continent tomorrow.

Also...Autofps is loading and crashing every time. Suspended cant close in task manager so cant reload during flight.

Wow, that was some horrible stuttering. It actually looked like it moved backwards at one point!!

Since installing SU15 the only stuttering I am experiencing is approaching EDDB (not departing) and approaching Heathrow 27L. But I had stuttering at these locations before SU15.So nothing new.

I have in basic terms: I9 processor, 4070S graphics, NVME drives. Almost al my settings are at Ultra and I am still using DX11.

For clarity, EDDB is from Areosoft, EGLL is from Inibuilds (not the latest version with the non-working VGSS)

Faster NVMe drives have now become necessary. Here is one with almost 14.000mb data read speed currently on sale:

Fast Nvme drives with speeds approaching 10000mb and beyond are Gen 5 and require PCIe5 motherboards to take advantage of that speed. If your motherboard is PCIe4, you would be wasting your money on a Gen5 Nvme drive capable of such speeds. The drive will work but it won’t be achieving anywhere near the published read/write speeds.

Wow that stuttering was massive, looks like an internet spike! Even with back to the future style effects with it... sickening! I am not having those but rather consistent loading stutter sometimes on final. But this was back and forth the last 500 feet.

Do you really think its fixed by faster hard drives? Why dont we experience those stutters on takeoff?

So I'm not the only one! These stutters are always on approach and I'm starting to think that they could be related to heavy or not optimized airports.

Except.. I'm running the sim on its own fast nvme already. Also rtx 4090 /i914900 96gb fast ram. Lowest I've had so far before that mess was 20fps landing orbx YBBN Brisbane.

Every landing strip had a weird shimmer last night. Will make short compilation video later. Even with 60fps I had the shimmer!

It definitely DID move backwards. Defies logic!

Do you use DLSS? Switch to TAA and see do you get the same results
