AI traffic status: fsltl/AIG/etc. Return leg airports

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've tested in last SU15 fsltl. I flew a flight from. EDDF Frankfurt Lufthansa flight A320 fenix, to LIPE Bologna. 1st leg no problem.

Then, the ultimate test. Return leg to EDDF, no surprise whatsoever, no AI traffic on the airport, not even parked models.

The thing is, even when I force Ground Traffic with traffic settings in msfs the models spawn and disappear straight away!!

How in heaven's name, is Asobo NOT CAPABLE, of solving this ever immersion destroying BUG! What in heaven's f@#€!

The list extends to all major airports I tested currently: eham, eddf, egll...

Next test will concern flights to minor hubs. Short legs from regional to regional and again back. I somehow see this happen only on the return leg to the airport of departure of the 1st leg.

A 2nd test will concern the usage of the rolling cache! What if i rolled the cache of the return sector, now this is what I've got to test yet!

Same annoying problem on my system. Unfortunately sometimes even turning off FSTl and then ON again it doesn't have effect.

I decided for this reason to use PSXT whitout problems (only a decrease of performance independently by the settings)

Okay, but PSXT is only on a subscribe basis and has its own drawbacks from what I often see in the forums.

Yes correct. PSXT is free. Instead Real Time Traffic, the source of injected data, is on subscribe basis. I was very skeptical at the beginning and to be honest, despite the continue improvements of the creator, there are some annoying problems sometimes. But mostly due to the problem you reported on subsequent legs and on the perfection of the sequencing of airplanes, is the only option I found more suitable.

Did you try to restart the FSTL on the second leg to see if traffic is regenerated? For me sometimes it didn't work but I read some use this as  workaround.

Restart fsltl when on the ground @ other airport right? Because restart I did often in flight but still encountered empty arrival airports.

Psxt and AiG as source for example is possible for free?

Yeah, unfortunately this is an Asobo bug that snuck in for a while now. Essentially once an object was created at an origin airport, and cleared, the aircraft is cached but never retrieved in the future; this results in empty origin airports upon returning. This impacts any sort of SimConnect API call that delegates MSFS to create an AI aircraft, which is the MSFS AI engine, FSLTL Injector, and AIG TM. PSXT is not impacted by this issue because the program tells the simulator to spawn a particular object at a specific position (bypassing Asobo's methods for creating aircraft at gates and giving control of AI to the sim).

However, PSXT won't inject static traffic either unless you have a RT subscription. But you will get static traffic (and more realistic live traffic) at your return airport if the data exists.

I also PSXT though because I love the real-time data and strong accurate gate assignments in most of the world. This does come at a steep cost with a RT subscription, but I value the realism.

So perhaps it is form me possible load in statics and diminish bug using psxt without subscribtion. Free statics together with fsltl just missing the taxiing a/c and taking off after return leg?

No, the program first checks if you have an RT subscription. If not, it will throw an error and stop working. You have to have a subscription if you want to use PSXT

Okay, so PSXT is not free to use. I do not like the subscription way, it keeps people paying same money all over again.

Just restart FSLTL or AIGTC in between legs. I personally prefer PSXT as well and will use FSLTL injector if I am operating to/from Airports with less than ideal RealTraffic coverage.

This does not work. The problem persists as long as the MSFS flight is finished. Explained above by someone else with more technical details

True. Even even freaking reload from save does not load. You have literally to leave the flight. Then load in again!

Better to fly p3d v5 not having this nonsensic word not allowed up my sleeve. Otherwise 1-2-3 destination hops. Otherwise just a lame restart.

I am becoming a serious liability because of this s---t.

Ah ok. It has been a very long time since the last time I tried the AIG/FSLTL restart between legs, (probably well over a years ago) but it did work.

I've just been spoiled with PSXT since then.

I'm curious to know how PSXT FPS is compared to FSTL (Default settings). Is there still a problem with planes disappearing when landing or teleporting?

Yes there was when I last tried a month ago. Also during takeoff roll aircraft would freeze and then later reappear in the air. I was told it's because of ADS-B coverage. Whatever it is, it's immersion breaking.
