Incredibly poor performance while on ground around airports.

I am trying every thing possible but I'm stuck at 15/25 fps on saint marteen on the ini builds a300 (imagine then at JFK) with medium settings and dlls super resolution on performance.

My specs are

GPU:NVIDIO GeForce RTX 2060

Ram: DDR4 16GB 3600MHZ

CPU: Intel Core i5-11400 up to 4.40 GHz

SSD m.2 521 NVME

Turn on dev mode, then FPS counter and check, what it reads. My bet is 100% of the time «limited by main thread». Or in other words: you are CPU limited. Try turning down Terrain LOD to see if this increases FPS.

This or poorly optimized scenery. Very common, unfortunately.

It is often the scenery, some addon airports are very unoptimized like stesma54 said.

I forgot the plane...from what I read the Ini A300 is pretty heavy.Or unoptimized.

You should look into an app like AutoFPS -- it definitely helps with on-ground performance drops.

The Airports are all so unoptimized, addons or not. I gotta lower my settings just to get off the ground or land. Why? 4060 - ryzen 9000's - ddr5 cl30 ram i mean using the dlss stuff.

Exactly for those issues, AutoFPS is THE tool to go for, you can set it up as such that you only have low settings on the ground where performance is hampered most. Just look for the thread here on avsim.

Is this in MSFS24? You have to lower your Terrain and Objects LOD while on ground or about to takeoff/land.

RTX2060 VRAM is limited to 6 GB. MSFS24 has spot use of much more than that in a developed area, it just doesn't manage memory demand so well due to the LOD system.

Well, ignoring the fact that you dredged up a two year old thread from the bottom of the Atlantic.........that RTX 4060 presumably has 8GB VRAM? That is not really enough for MSFS 2024 (which I am assuming is what you are using). I have 12GB VRAM on my RTX 4070 Super, and I get the occasional "resource usage exceeds GPU memory capacity" message in very dense scenery areas. This is almost certainly the cause of any problems, rather than your CPU or RAM. How much RAM do you have?

Your PC specs are minimum, or worse. Here's what's recommended. Certainly the CPU is below the minimum.

AMD Ryzen 7800x3d   64gb DDR5, Sapphire 7900 GPU MSSI Tomahawk AM5 M/Board. 1x 4tb Crucial M.2  SSD, 3x 2tb Crucial M.2 SSD's

Other than maybe 16GB DDR4 I don't see any problem with those specs - look at my specs in my sig - and I get pretty darn good performance even at some tough airports, but I'm using DynamicLOD Reset edition (AutoFPS is an alternative) and Lossless Scaling - which is just the medicine my system needs to run MSFS 2024 really well with mostly high and ultra settings. 2024 really is amazing for it's ability to be run on sub-standard systems like mine - just requires a couple of crutches (DynamicLOD and Lossless Scaling).

Koshernet is the one asking the question now. The original post was made two years ago, so it was in reference to MSFS 2020.
