Thanks for the notification. This is likely to be one of the more accurate and robust representations in the helo realm that we have for MSFS at the current time, alongside Taog's other products as well as the Hype Performance Group H145 and H160.

Awesome! I have TAOG's other helo offerings and especially enjoy the Allouette. I just bought and have been enjoying the excellent Miltech CH-47D Chinook for the last two days, so the Huey will make an awesome companion as they are similar generational birds. I have hundreds and hundreds of hours riding in the back of Chinooks throughout my 17 years in the 101st Airborne, and about 20 parachute jumps from the CH-47 ramp. The Huey was just getting phased out when I got to the 101st in my early years, but I did manage 5 jumps from it. Fun bird to jump from, just sitting on the floor with your legs dangling out and then push off. Miss those times. Need to go purchase and download this one!

Did you step on the skid, and then push off?   Or just jump from a seated position on the edge of the floor?

Both...you are seated on the floor with your legs dangling and boots on the skid. Then. when the Jumpmaster hits you on the shoulder, you push off with your hands on the floor edge, and as your upper body propels forward you push away with your feet off of the skid.

@Mace At that time I was in an LRSD unit (Long Range Surveillance Detachment), the modern-day equivalent to the LRRP's. We operated in small six man teams and jumped out of Huey's and then Blackhawks as they started replacing the Huey's. The majority of the 101st Airborne was no longer on jump status at this time, as they were more focused on being an Air Assault division, which is the more modern version of an Airmobile division. So, the LRSD and the division Pathfinder detachment were the only jump status units left by then. Just some background info for you.

So, after purchasing the Huey yesterday and spending some time with her for a few flights, I really like it. Taog's did an excellent job with this one, and a great progressive step up and improvement over the past helicopter releases from him. There are lots of cool liveries, lots of extra options you can add or not to the Huey (love the hulu girl on the dash, nice touch!) and the cockpit detail is done really well. The flight model is comparable to his other choppers, but even though I do have plenty of passenger hours in Huey's, I am not a pilot, so I cannot attest to the flight model if it is as good as a real Huey or not. It definitely feels really good. The sounds, I think are really well done to. The one area I think more work needs done are the checklists and procedures. I could not find anything in the included documentation that easily shows you were everything is to start it up and fly. There is a checklist, but it does not show you where each switch is, so you have to really hunt for stuff in the cockpit. The starter switch is especially hidden. The Asobo/MSFS checklist does list everything, but the little eye button that takes you to said switch or button does nothing. Other than that, once and if you get her started up, she is a joy to fly.

This might be one of the best helicopters ever released for Flight Sim 2020, it is getting danger close to the quality helicopters in DCS have! Even the engine cover can be opened, the spiral cables are high-polygon and not hexagonal, all nuts and rivets are modeled in 3D and not just blurry bumpmaps. Perfection.

Feel the awesomeness of the Huey:

Best helicopter scene ever, cinematic to the max.

Everyone already in Huey mood? Almost 7GB awesome gigabytes FINEST high quality high polygon high texture resolution chop chop chop 🥰 Now that is what I call absolute truest to the core quality to the max! On par with the DCS Apache and Hind!

The only negative aspects I have found is that when no exhaust heat diffusor is mounted the turbine in the exhaust is not spinning. Wow I hope this small detail will get enhanced - and we have the best helicopter ever made!

And when adding the digital GPS to the windshield (blasphemy I know, this ultimate helicopter masterpiece must be flown VOR but I have just tested that GPS a little bit) the screen is a bit rising above the edges. But I will fix that and upload it as a mod on flightsim.to as small hotfix.

Does the model include having to adjust throttle and collective interactively? Or is there an option for simplified operation.

Like any other heli: map throttle and collective to your controller of choice. Throttle can be adjusted via mouse (or whatever you use I'd imagine) and I'm sure collective can be too. If the Cabri works for you then this will too. 💁‍♂️

It's an excellent release: truly very well done (and LOUD). This comes very close to the flight model of the Huey we had in X-Plane, and the modelling far exceeds it. Three versions included: classic low-skid, high-skid and military. Plus clipboard to convert to ambulance version, water-drop version etc. Easy to fly (Hueys are: it's a heavy and stable ship) but will keep you on your toes during certain aspects of flight (read: near the ground). Highly enjoyable and WELL WORTH buying this and supporting the developer that has spent thousands of hours making it.
