Not for the winds. Thus, you still need it.

Thanks, hence my original question.  But how if there's no PMDG profile in the Downloader?

Yes, we still need a full Simbrief profile, FS2Crew, full GSX profile...that's why I will purchase 777 at the end of July.

I was able to load the winds fine on the 777 from just the simbrief import.

I don’t own the 737 so I can’t say for sure on that, I’m just remembering from streams I’ve watched.

Ok, can someone here gently walk me through this?  Let's say I use the SimBrief web page?  I create a flight and all that.  Then what?  I was always under the impression that I needed the SimBrief Downloader to save the files to the correct folders.

What are the steps for loading a COROUTE without using the Downloader?

Thanks in advance.

Use the EFB to import FP then use the RTE page to load and activate RTE. I’m sure you can find video for current 737. Works the same.

Why not use the downloader, it makes it fool proof and easy?

Hi Bob, because the downloader doesn't have a PMDG 777 or any 777 selection, this was my original question.

Ok,

So it looks like the downloader is still needed for 737, but not for 777. However, maybe PMDG updated it for 737 as well - i have to check

This will work on the 737 the same as the 777. No need to use the downloader for either now.

As the OP I’d like to thank everyone who helped.  I also posted at PMDG and found a tutorial too.  Now I know how to load a flight plan and winds without using the Downloader.

I’m making a nice flight from KBOS to KATL as I type this and this plane is fantastic.  I loved it in P3D.  But my favorite plane of all time is the Queen.  I hope PMDG makes it for MSFS.

Again, much appreciated ya’ll.

Please ask if you need any more assistance! I’m yet to fly the 777 due to work, but it’s installed and waiting for the weekend!

The EFB flight plan import definitely brings in the enroute wind forecast as well, and it will be available to load in the FMC LEGS page. You do not need the stand-alone downloader anymore for either the 777 or the EFB-enabled 737
