I agree with the rational of why they pulled it from sale as described here, but how much work would it actually take a developer to add the missing runway? I have no idea and that is an honest question... Still bummed about them pulling the plug on LIRF for p3d... I imagine they were quite far along with development too. Orman
August 28, 20241 yr That's toxic behavior. I don't like it, I mean, what does difference make for them to keep the P3D products to their server? It costs them almost nothing.
August 28, 20241 yr Moderator I have EDDK Koln from Aerosoft. In the last 12 months the runway designation has changed for 14/32. Users asked if it would be updated. I didn’t notice until I’d posted that it was for MSFS. I asked if the P3D version could be updated. The official line was it couldn’t. I persisted and googled the name of the developer. I posted that info on Saturday. On Monday the developer posted saying he’d update the P3D version. If you don’t ask… 😉 Just one problem for me. I bought it from PC Aviator and repeated posts to them have gone unanswered. I’m hoping I can get the update from Aerosoft. Anyone know if PC Aviator are still operational? The website works but they never reply. 🤨 Ray (Cheshire, England). Actually I thought about doing this for EIDW. The addition of the underlying runway to the existing scenery is not that difficult of a modification. You can use ADE to add the runway, the ILS and the supporting taxiways. This I can handle. More burdensome (at least for me) is replacing the satellite imagery close to the new runway to provide the correct background textures. As we discovered, the latest GE imagery has a few inconsiderate clouds placed directly over the runway, so some clean up of the satellite imagery would be required or a purchase of satellite imagery from another vendor would be needed. For a developer with the original files, the main obstacle I would see is getting good quality satellite imagery around the new runway. The rest I would imagine would take ~1 day to make the necessary updates to the scenery. It would probably take more time to organize the distribution of the update than the scenery update itself!😉 Edited August 29, 20241 yr by 787flyer SpoilerSystem specs: MFG Crosswind pedals| ACE B747 yoke |Honeycomb Bravo throttleNow built: P3Dv5.3HF2: Intel i5-12600K @4.8Ghz | MSI Z690-A PRO | Asus Dual RTX 4070 Super OC 12Gb| 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200Mhz |Samsung 980Evo Pro PCIe 500Gb | WD Black SN850 PCIe 2Tb | WD SA510 4Tb |beQuiet 802 Tower Case|Corsair RM850 PSU | Acer Predator X34P 3440x1440pMark AldridgeMSFS2024 SU5 & P3D v5.3 HF2
September 6, 20241 yr +1 I too want to see new runway 28R added onto MK P3D scenery. I don't even remember how many times I had to notify controllers on Vatsim that I am unable 28R due to scenery. I don't know what the situation is with MK whether they are still developing/updating stuff for P3D or have abandoned like many other developers.

Yeah rather disappointment - they released Dublin scenery while other runway was in construction - this is present in their scenery. They did say that they were going the add the other runway once completed but we all know what happened shortly afterwards, the arrival of "MSFS" - many developers left P3D customers stranded. I still think they should have at least added the other runway before abandoning the sim. Same thing can be said of other developer for VHHH scenery. Edited September 9, 20241 yr by CAP1234

I moved from the "other" scenery developer to WF Scenery Studio some time ago and they did make the new runway available/operational for VHHH in mid 2022. This update was offered at no charge. IMHO this is a really good scenery to own. September 9, 20241 yr Moderator It would be interesting to know what EGCC Manchester looks like in both XP and MSFS. Default and addon. T2 is undergoing massive redevelopment with a new pier at the western end of T2. T1 and 3 is also due to be rebuilt in the coming years. I can’t imagine any developer has EGCC looking like it does currently. Ray (Cheshire, England). April 11Apr 11 Sorry to revive this thread, please feel free to delete my post. I eventually had a look at trying to "edit" the scenery to add runway 10L-28R. Unless I am missing something obvious, there seems to be an issue with the scenery's original base satellite files (ground polygon?) and asphalt/concrete textures files that appear on top of standard P3D runway and taxiway textures. It is easy enough to edit the AFCAD file, but it is of not much use because runway 28R sits below the above mentioned various textures. So basically, it looks a mess! Also, there are taxiway signs, stop bars and other various other objects which sit right in the middle of the runway or the adjacent taxiway. So unless you remove a lot of the original files and "corrupt" the look of the original scenery, then editing the AFCAD does not seem to help that much (as far as I can tell). I did the same myself... Same result. Without tweaking and changing the basic scenery, there is nothing u can do
