August 20, 20241 yr That 6000 MHz CAS36 is off-the-shelf Joe Average RAM...put some decent memory in that 13900K and overclock the CPU to its potential, and the numbers will come out much closer. The AMD CPU isn't affected nearly as much by that slow RAM due to its massive L3 cache, and it can't be overclocked much, if at all, due to heat dissipation issues with the X3D cache piggybacked on top of the CCD. August 20, 20241 yr While the 7800x3d is the undisputed king of these 1:1 tests, its important to note where it falls short to the 13900 is in background tasks. You can have a LOT more going on with your PC and not suffer much performance impact whereas with the AMD chip if you have many different processes running in the BG it can start to lag. Despite that, I am happy I made the switch from the 12.9K to the 78x3 as I no longer deal with noise and temps that are cooking the fans in my rig. The lower power draw is nice as well.
