I Am Very Angry

Featured Replies

Shalom and greetings all my pals,

I am officially very word not allowed. I am sure all of you recall Photobucket's cancellation of free service years ago which forced flights simmers to switch to other image hosting sites for screenshots. I switched to IMGBB website for my screenshots. Now IMGBB stops hosting screenshots and blanks all my past screenshots. Other people report "service not available" so I have to look for other image hosting site.

Experts say the words "If you’re seeing “service unavailable,” it’s coming from ImgBB, not anything under your control. That’s another reason not to use image hosting services like ImgBB on a live site. You have no control over how quickly they serve the images, or if they even will. It’s always best to host the images yourself and/or use a reputable CDN (not an image hosting service)."

There are many meanings for CDN Looking at all different answers I am guessing it is network of interconnected servers That is out of question and out of my league

Now I have to look for other image hosting site as good as Photobucket and IMGBB

Regards from very angry Aharon who loves to publish beautiful screenshots on many flightsim forums to share with all of you.

You can host images for very little cost in and Amazon Web Services S3 Bucket and create links to your images their. You do have to make sure you set the permissions to public on them as well.

I suggest Imgur. Freeware and very useful in this forum. I use it for years.

I've used it for years too but major issues uploading on pc these days. Just can't do it unless with app that is useless to me as screenshots on pc. Last time I shared pix here I had to use my Dropbox.

Plenty of Reddit rants about it.

I continue using Imgur. I have not the slightest issue with uploading storing or linking to images. I could do it my sleep almost.

Imgur encourages users to post their images for other users to comment on. But I ignore all their social media features. It's just storage and retrieval for me.

As for logging onto Imgur, I just click the log in by Google icon. That way I never have to enter a password or deal with other such annoyances.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

For the screenshot forum, I prefer to use Flickr. I'm not as prolific as Aharon, and maybe that's why their 1000-photo limit does not bother me.

I only keep Imgur for photos of which I don't feel like keeping control of, such as memes. I mean,I don't even have an account there!

Lossless Scaling for all my sims. What a godsend...

Mobile rig: ASUS Zenbook UM425QA (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU @3.2 GHz and boost disabled, 1 TB M.2 SSD, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro). Running FS9 there .

VKB Gladiator NXT Premium Left + GNX THQ as primary controllers. Xbox Series X|S wireless controller as standby/mobile.

I use Steam as they provide 20 GB of storage for around 25,000 screen shots for their members  (I have FSX-SE and a host of other Steam games built up over many years of membership).

I added my screen pics bucket as a non-steam game (to Steam), am using Reshade to capture and upload using steascree

This is what a Steam Pic URL looks like.

If you want something long-lasting and reliable, pay for it.

My vote is for S3.

I make simFDR, the most advanced flight data recorder for FSX, Prepar3D and X-Plane.
