I don't think so, because my joystick settings are the same as before the patch, but if you can't see the difference in the flight model before and after the most recent patches, you can't understand what I mean.

Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

I don't see why GSX can't be combined with SKC / APL. At least in the Fenix the integration is perfect.

It is and it works fine with the other 3 planes I use regularly, but PMDG 738 has issues with SLC.  And APL really has nothing to do with it anyway.

TBH as a APLv2 user and Self Loading Cargo I'd be delighted to say bye bye to GSX

Yes, with sincere respect to Umberto for undertaking what is clearly a pretty complex add-on, it is the one product that I would very much like to dispense with once and for all. I get that spinning window on nearly every flight and it is so frustrating. At least half the time I end up needing to reset Coult and then wait again. It almost always gets there but wastes several minutes at the start of most flights. In the end it gets the job done for me and I appreciate it, but all the little annoyances and the way it is too scripted with little variation puts me off. Hopefully 2024 has better pushback -- half the reason I have GSX - and in that case I will not reinstall it.

I could have written those exact words, including the sincere respect to Umberto for taking this on for MSFS.  Some really difficult challenges I can imagine he has had to come up with work arounds for.  I've always been amazed at how unawares GSX is of its surroundings and this suggests to me that the SDK he had to work with was not able to support this very basic issue.   Self Loading Cargo has integrated with GSX but it's an option so if n when SLC becomes useable in MSFS I will also will most likely hold off on installing GSX.  As a DLSS FG non-user frame rate becomes important and the GSX PAX are good for up to 20% impact on the main thread when they are boarding the plane.

How much of a fps-hickup will the Fenix be vs the FBW? =/ RTX 3600Ti + 5600X in 2560x1440 (yeah, I need to upgrade).

I attempted a flight today with the FBW.  To me it's just so many levels down compared to fenix that I can't imagine wanting to fly it again.  I say that with full appreciation for the work the team has done.  I find myself now wanting a neo and A330/340 on the same level as fenix.

And i think for most simmers this may be more than enough. But if you are looking for complete package Its just missing the final few pieces that would make me want to fly this alongside the Fenix.

I started w/ FBW as someone completely word not allowed of Airbus.  It appears if one tries Fenix they won't go back...so I think since I'm very happy with FBW just won't go there!  Plus....in the RW the Neo sounds like a better aircraft overall, as Airbus' answer to the MAX.

Like others have said here, the FBW is fantastic. Greatly appreciate the team pushing the boundaries of freeware far beyond some the better payware of old.

Still, for me, the Fenix A320 is the best sim aircraft I've ever flown.

It sounds fabulous but for me it's not that critical I find FBW's for what it is as very decent, of course. Clearly not up to Fenix for most users, though I've read some that actually went back to FBW.  Maybe that was an older version of Fenix at the time.  Though I like the planes I fly it hardly bothers me to fly for example WT's 787X which is perhaps on a par or slightly under FBW.  This is because I fly for score, and scenery is important as well.  In fact the apps I'm using don't accommodate failures, but I'm told it's coming.

From ChatGPT:  (with one minor edit***)

Yes, Airbus released the A320neo to compete directly with Boeing's 737 MAX. Both aircraft are part of their respective manufacturers' best-selling narrow-body, single-aisle jet families, and the rivalry between them intensified with these upgrades.

The A320neo (New Engine Option), introduced in 2010*** and initially sold in 2016, features improved fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and lower noise levels compared to the previous A320 models, thanks to new engines and aerodynamic enhancements like sharklet wingtips. Boeing responded with the 737 MAX, which similarly offers more efficient engines, better fuel consumption, and aerodynamic improvements.

Both aircraft target the same market segment—short- to medium-haul routes—and are designed to offer airlines significant cost savings, making the competition between the A320neo and 737 MAX particularly fierce. The two planes have been competing for orders from major airlines around the world.

Only lateral navigation so it's up to you to manage vertical.  They keep saying it's part of FMS2 which was available to the public then I think they pulled it to complete other aspects of their planned update.

hmm rnav vertical worked for me. The dev version is much better actually, there's also missed approaches and terrain radar

I must be the only one who considers the FBW and Fenix not alternative to each other, given that one is an a320neo and the other is an a320ceo.

I need them both to simulate different airlines and different routes, so both get their fair share of use. For instance, I fly ANA pretty often, and they don't have any ceo left in the fleet.

The Fenix is clearly the superior product, but if I flew only the best aircraft, I would fly only one aircraft, and that'd be pretty boring. The FBW is still plenty good enough to be enjoyable when I need a neo.
