More P3D surprises from orbx coming

Featured Replies

Can someone please confirm if Global Range as well as Global Vector and libraries are now also possible to install in v6 using Obx Central, without any editing "magic" ?

Flying gliders since 1980

Flightsimming since 1992

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

I only have Base Pack and ObjectFlow.

Libraries was previously greyed out.

Just now I selected it and 781MB is downloading / extracted and Installed without error into my Main Library.

Notes:

I never used the "tricks" to get Orbx P3D4/5 purchases working in P3D6.

I now noticed Oceania/YMML v4 is available for P3D5 and P3D6 AU$24.55

Do not now if I can use any of my Airports/Regions purchases from P3D4/5 in P3D6 or not.

Thank you @vonmar,

although in my case since no other version of P3D will be installed, it's a single v6 install, I cannot point the V6 to the V5 libraries 😕 so I will have to wait for v6-native installers anyway...

Same applies to FSLabs, which does not support v6 yet, and I will use P3D mostly to be able to re-use my FSLabs airbus fleet ...

Those of you considering London City are you aware of the 5.5° glideslope? That means only certain aircraft can fly in/out such as the BaE146 on its 4948ft runway.

Just so you’re aware.

Just look at the static aircraft at London City.  I think you'll see some real heavies there lined up along the terminal.

I can’t because I don’t have the airport. Can a “heavy” takeoff on a 4948ft runway? Why don’t you try it in a heavy and report back. 😁

I have done it, and it can be done.  It's a little scary right to the end, but I have been able to do it with various Airbus and Boeing aircraft.

This from Wikipedia…

What is the largest aircraft that can land at London City?

Embraer E195-E2
Only multi-engine, fixed-wing aircraft up to Embraer E195-E2, Airbus A220 and A318 size with special aircrew and aircraft certification to fly 5.5° approaches, the strict noise limitations and further restrictions are allowed to conduct operations at London City Airport.

Wow.  Flight simulation must be very "forgiving".

Unlike the real world if you go off the end of the runway in P3D people don’t die. 😉

You must be using a flawed airport configuration file if heavy aircraft are showing up at EGLC.

I've landed ATRs there a couple of times and it was very challenging.

I went there irl to take photos couple months back. Security doesn't like cameras even outside perimeter got stopped twice by heavily armed security. Not a fun experience in the UK. RIP plane spotting.

Here are the planes I was trying to get pix of:
