That membership I have too. I wrote him an e-mail so let’s see what hij respond will be…

The forum no longer exists and the latest Free updates are from 2022 as far as I can see.

Indeed. He tried to remove every trace of the old membership deal to hide the fact that he isn't honoring it anymore with his new airports.

Too bad that the internet doesn't forget just because you delete your site.

Membership
You pay for an unlimited membership on the site. You get access to all airports and the forum. You get access to all updates. You get access to all the airports that will be created later. Only here you have access to the most recent versions. You also get access to exclusive work, which is not freely available. This is a one-time payment.

Again, we got a decent deal out of it, but I don't appreciate the bait and switch and the shady excuses. Which is why I haven't purchased any of his new airports and I won't.

That being said, I wouldn't be worried about not getting the update. It should come, whenever he gets around remembering to do it and stops hoping that people will double dip, I suppose.

Thanks !

Me too I won’t purchase it again. As MSFS 2024 is around the corner I first want my current airports to be updated/workimg in MSFS 2024.

What does the latest 2.4.0 update add?

Dunno Christopher. Nothing is mentioned on the Orbx site. I have contacted Inibuilds on their forum regarding the updated 2.4 version, so will wait to see if I get a reply.

Respond from Alexey :

“The update on the site will be released immediately after the release on the Marketplace.”

So I will wait for that.

Unfortunately, this specific developer is... a bit finicky with updates. It'll come, but there's a bit of a cautionary tale about him.

He started with a "membership" approach in which people were asked to pay a certain amount upfront with the promise of getting all of his airports present and future, with no limitations. At some point, he stopped updating them for a long period of time, ignoring complaints and releasing and updating airports on other marketplaces without giving them to his members.

While that changed after several months and updates finally arrived for members as well, he then started this partnership with Amsim crafting himself an excuse to never give any new airports anymore to those who subscribed to the initial deal, which is honestly not a great look.

Now, to be fair, the deal of the membership was still pretty sweet, albeit his quality has been hit and miss, but the fact that he basically ghosted his members for several months and dodged the membership deal altogether with an excuse after a while isn't the best look and certainly has left some with a bitter taste.

On the other hand, the update to Genoa finally makes it quite good for my taste.

My understanding was that Alexey got caught up in the whole Russia/Ukraine thing and the subsequent banning of many sites on the web, and that's the reason the membership aspect suffered.

I believe the original site is now accesible again. I seem to remember going back there and getting updates for everything. I have all his stuff and have always found him very helpful and professional. He's put fixes in place on my personal request on more than one occasion.

Based on my experience with waiting for recent updates on the MS Marketplace, don't expect it before Christmas

Just updated in the marketplace. It's a place I visit often, so I'll probably do a flight to Bilbao or Venice (I think those are by the same dev). Or perhaps Bolzano - never been able to safely get in there in an airliner 😅

I too had the original membership and I have regularly downloaded free updates even after Alexei's change of business model.

I have just downloaded version 2.4 of LIMJ, dated 05Nov2024!

The date under the a/p thumbnail is the original issue. Make sure to check the version number and click on the thumbnail to see the latest update.

The current version number is also indicated under the release date. For Genoa, it is 2.4. The other airports have also been updated to the latest version.
