April 19, 20251 yr Thanks for the map additions! I generally use FSPM when in-sim, so that could be one top menu bar item I could lose! Having the flight plan showing is great. However - if I need any more info, I go to LittleNavMap (another *superb* freeware addon). I did find a tiny bug: when "teleporting" to a location on the map, all works fine - but the sim gets stuck in pause mode and the pause/unpause key doesn't work. I had to hit the Esc button then go back into the cockpit. This is in 2024.

I had to hit the Esc button then go back into the cockpit. This is in 2024. Hello and thank you for the feedback 🍻 The 'teleport pause' is not really a bug, it was meant to work this way. By default, after teleporting, the sim is paused because i thought it was better to let you react in case some additional settings were needed and to let the scenery refresh. To unpause you need to set the 'pause off' key because because AL uses the real pause and not the 'active pause' one (active pause was problematic as inputs were still registered while in pause which could lead to catastrophic effects when unpausing). if you don't like that, you can disable the auto-pause in the options screen ('map options' tab) with the 'no pause after teleporting aircraft' option by checking it. You can see the option in the screen i posted yesterday. With msfs2024, they changed a bit the way the pause works compared to what it was in 2020 and now it has that useless (and annoying imho) cinematic effect going back to the menu. So when AL pauses, then you need to unpause (pause off key) and it will go back to the menu and then you need to click on resume and it should be ok (a few useless extra steps unfortunately 😱). Note that the map in AL was mainly made to help selecting addons and see the installed addons. Teleporting was also something i found very useful when i wanted to check addons without having to fly over them manually. The flightplan with auto selection of the addons was also developped with that in minde. For all other map features, specialised map addons or the fantastic Little Nav Map is obviously 1000000 times better with its gazillions of incredible features and AL is not at all meant to replace it, i also use LNM for all flights 👍. 🍻 Edited April 19, 20251 yr by Bad_T
April 19, 20251 yr Aaaah - OK - many thanks! I must admit I agree on the whole pause "thing" in 2024. Totally confusing and illogical. I'll check what I have mapped to my "P" key. I also agree on LNM - it's a mind-boggling piece of work. I wish Asobo would employ people like him (or you!!) instead of the AI chimpanzees they must have on their payroll at the moment. But hey - the eye candy is superb!!!
April 19, 20251 yr Bad_T - thanks for the new Flightplan map options. I tried it out and really like it! Works beautifully! I had been using various presets to add in the airports and sceneries I needed for a flight but those presets tend to add too many airports. This really keeps it to a minimum. Every time I think there's no way AL could get any better, you find a way to do it! Can't thank you enough for AL. It's still the ultimate tool for both my FS2020 and FS2024 flying!
April 20, 20251 yr I'm wondering whether a nice addition to the 50m flight plan radius could be to just select your departure airport/ICAO - and enable addons around that. That would cut out the Simbrief flight plan step altogether. Quite often, I just want to do short (photo-op) flights from a specific location - and wouldn't need anything beyond 50m. I know I could create a flight plan (MSFS or Simbrief) with identical DEP and ARR - but it would mean recreating another Simbrief plan for my regular A320 flights to replace the local one made previously. That said, I'm not sure exactly how time is actually saved by cutting down redundant sceneries - my sim seems to load pretty quickly as it is (with my geo-specific AL presets).
April 20, 20251 yr yup, i had a similar idea and added those options yesterday 👍 then useful or not usefull we don't really know but at least it's there 🙊😜 🍻 Edited April 20, 20251 yr by Bad_T
April 20, 20251 yr Thank you as always @Adamski_NZ .. well you're a part of the 'goodies makers' with your feedback 👍 .. if it was just me, i guess i wouldn't even have thought of most features that are now included. --- for info, i have removed the link on the previous page and a new official version has been released on fs.to, hopefully all will be ok 🤞 Thanks again everyone for your feedback 🍻
April 20, 20251 yr A pleasure to help out in any way I can! And ... for all those people that are even lazier than I am (LOL): https://flightsim.to/file/1572/msfs-addons-linker Just grabbed the update - can't wait to try the ICAO thing!
April 20, 20251 yr I like the easy "Import SimBrief" click spot. What about an "Import PLN file"? for those that do not use SimBrief and only create flight plans from say Little NavMap. April 20, 20251 yr It's already there (!) ... check the image a couple of posts back. Mind you - I haven't tried that (yet) as the ICAO option works beautifully! BTW - if people are wondering what "cumulative means", it's simply a way of adding additional areas along your proposed route. Another nice touch! However - I'd imagine adding extra scenery *whilst in flight* may crash the sim <???>. Edited April 20, 20251 yr by Adamski_NZ

Yes, as @Adamski_NZ said, it's the little clickspot 'Load flightplan' on the left of the import simbrief clickspot, if you click on it you will be able to choose a PLN file. 43 minutes ago, Adamski_NZ said: BTW - if people are wondering what "cumulative means", it's simply a way of adding additional areas along your proposed route. Another nice touch! However - I'd imagine adding extra scenery *whilst in flight* may crash the sim <???>. Yep 'cumulative' means that everything that is already activated will stay activated. 'Non cumulative' will activate the addons near the flightplan (or icao) but deactivate all the others (as noted in my previous post this will not deactivate persistant addons or addons that are not sceneries shown on the map). So, for example, if you want to activate only addons near EGGL and EDDF for your flight (without loading a flightplan), you could add 'non cumulative' EGLL and then add 'cumulative' EDDF so that only addons near both airports would be activated. Note that in future version it will probably be possible to add 'departure/destination ICAO directly, maybe it will even be possible to activate addons automatically based on flightplan or ICAO codes directly from the main screen without the need to load the map. Just ideas 😜 Adding extra scenery while is flight should not crash the sim but it will unfortunately have no effect because the sim loads the addons when the sims starts and so if you activate them after the sim is started it will not see them 😱 🍻 Edited April 20, 20251 yr by Bad_T
May 19, 20251 yr @Bad_T - you have probably posted my issue somewhere but I cannt find a solution. I would like to be able hide folders that are not required for me to see. As an example I have some Scenery Dependencies in AL - they need to be there but they also have associated folders that I would like to hide within AL. Hello, Not sure if understand correctly. with AL you can hide addons but that feature is for addons that you don't want to see and don't want to use (for example if you share the same addon folder for AL2020 and AL2024 you would be able to hide addons that don't work with MSFS2020 in AL2020 and hide addons that do not work with MSFS2020 in AL2020). To hide addons you need to click on the visible columns as seen on the pic below which was posted when the feature was introduced with version 0.23. But maybe you want to hide something that you still want to use (that's the part i didn't really understand), so in that case there is no real possibility to do that with the current version of AL and i would need to investigate further. Post maybe in details what you would like to achieve with some example screens. Thank you 🍻

Post maybe in details what you would like to achieve with some example screens. I may be wishing for something that is not necessary - but let me try to explain... So the screenshot I am showing is for a category called Dependencies. The files in the various folders are NOT required in the normal times of flight. They are required to create MSFS Scenery in the SDK. As an example, the first folder - "Daves3danimalslib_images" - are used by MSFS SDK when I may want to place certain animals into a scenery that I am creating. But I do not need those folders or files during normal flying, because once the scenery is created and downloaded into the Community folder that's the end of it. So I was just wonderering if there was a way to hide them in the AL app. I also could simply put those folders/files directly into the MSFS Community folder but when I have to clear that folder it would be a nuisance. I can also just minimize each folder and save AL that way. See attached screenshot. Not sure why but I don't see how to attach mu screen shot. I will have to upload it to my Goog Drive then provide a link... https://drive.google.com/file/d/1q0AE3XDfCIum1jrOy_lywBnnUbBaHtSA/view?usp=sharing Edited May 20, 20251 yr by Dane Watson Regards, Dane - Windows 11 Home - CPU Intel Core i7-10700KF @3.8GHz - EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU - 1TB SSD DRIVE - RAM 32GB - MSFS-2020
