December 17, 20241 yr Moderator 🙂 I knew you would have one but my old tired eyes just couldn't see it! Thanx again for the great product. BTW, is there a button that will pour me a cold drink? Just asking............ 🙂 RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
December 22, 20241 yr Is there a YT video "Addon Linker for Dummies"? I have used it without issue with 2020 but am having difficulties setting up for 2024. Ta- C Best- Carl Avari-Cooper
December 22, 20241 yr Describe your problem ... lots of friendly/helpful people here willing to assist :) Make sure you have the latest build - it has a few (mainly cosmetic) changes that help. I've had no problems with it in 2024, so there may be just the odd path set up that you're missing - and you'll soon be back on familiar territory!
December 22, 20241 yr Adam- Thanks, I am using Build 0.24.9116.37269 Currently set to work with 2020, but I want to use the same folders, now pointing to the 2024 Community Folder when I want to change in 2024. I can't figure out how to add 2024 structure and KEEP 2020 structure. Under Options, I only see the MSFS Community Folder path- not a second for 2024. Thanks- C Edited December 22, 20241 yr by cavaricooper Best- Carl Avari-Cooper

Thanks- C I'm going to assume that you run the AL 2024 exe (not the 2020 version) Then do the same thing you did with 2020. Add your add-on folder, then find your community folder. MSFS

March 16, 20251 yr On 12/5/2024 at 9:50 PM, Bad_T said: Hello, I will post a new version on FS.to in a few minutes, i just put here a little screen explaining the main new features. The new 'hide' options was requested several times now that most of you share the same folder for MSFS2020 and MSFS2024. The main idea is that you can hide addons not compatible with v2020 in AL2024 and hide addons not compatible with 2024 in AL2020 version. The little screen below be a bit more helpful than just the what's new on fs.to so i post it here. Hope it's ok and feel free to ask me if something is not clear because yes with both sims to manage at the same it's getting a bit more complicated. Thank you 🍻 Hello, I finally installed MSFS 2024 and started to organize my addons thanks to both your ALs, the hide addons feature is great to prevent loading the wrong airport scenery. Just wondering what is the purpose of the first step, adding the name of the root folder. I didn't do it and it seems to work regardless. Thanks you, I figured it would be easier to ask here. Best regards.
March 16, 20251 yr Hello @Darewell and welcome to the forum 🍻 That picture was just to show/explain some of the new features of that particular version (v0.23), it's not something you are forced to do or use. The idea of renaming the root folder is that some users wanted to see something different than the real name of the last level of the folder they added as root folder. Like, for example, if they have added something like xxx\Orbx\MSFS2020 as root folder, the tool would show MSFS2020 for the root folder name and maybe the user want to see Orbx Addons so it would be possible to do that via that option. Another example, someone who added 2 different source folders on two different drives like C:\games\MSFS\Addons and D:\games\MSFS\Addons could rename the root folders as Addons (D:\) and Addons (E:\) to make it more clear instead of AL showing by default twice Addons. So, those are only options, nothing is mandatory to use. 🍻 Edited March 16, 20251 yr by Bad_T

April 18, 20251 yr Hello, 🍻 Another little preview/test version for both AL2020 and AL2024 for those interested. You still need all the files that come with the official release, just replace the EXE with the ones in the zip below. https://www.mediafire.com/file/4hs9knptxf5imhm/MSFS_AddonsLinker_2024_TEST_20250418.zip/file One of the frequent request i had was to implement some sort of automatic selection of the addons based on the flightplan you're about to fly. So if you are interested : in the options tab ('map options' tab) : set your Simbrief alias name (not the number, you can see it in the simbrief 'account settings' page) and set the range that will be used for the automatic selection then open the map and click on the 'Import Simbrief' button (you can also load flightplans that are saved in PLN files but i guess not many use that anymore with the great simbrief) the flightplan should appear on the map right click on the map and select one of the 2 new options shown below. All addons shown on the map matching with the range that you selected in the options screen should get activated. Note about the two options : The cumulative option keeps your current selection and adds the new addons. The 'non cumulative' option will deactivate all other addons shown on the map and activate the ones matching the range. Note that only the addons on the map will be deactivated, if you have tools (like pms gtn) or any other non scenery addons, they will NOT be deactivated. If you have set some addons as being 'persistant', they won't be deactivated either, it will just deactivate the other addons present on the map that are not within the range of your flightplan so the 'non cumulative' option should be the preferred way to do things i guess. So, hmm, goodbye complicated preset 😱 ? maybe not, but hey maybe worth a try and in some specific circumstances maybe this can be useful for some you 😁. If you test it, let me know please if something does not work as intented or if you have ideas of improvements. If this 'proof of concept' is ok i'll post it as new official soon on fs.to and then we'll go from there for further improvements. So well, yeah, as always i can't keep it short, hopefully it's not too confusing. 🙊 Thank you and happy Easter !! 🥚🐰🍻 sometimes, with new exe, a minority of users get 'virus warnings' because the file is not digitally signed, i can assure you that the file is safe but, if you have any doubts, it's obviously better and important to not use it. https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/2400fb77e2f959da7141bdcd5e88ef7e7cba0916aa0f381129baa88f767d7b46 https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/187284481e728957583ffb1ef4fe7e71adda31991e2329bacf2909518227387f Edited April 18, 20251 yr by Bad_T
April 18, 20251 yr Was looking forward to testing this new TEST file - but after downloading, extracting and running I do not have the version you are showing in your post above. What am I doing wrong? Could you please give me (us) the steps to install... Thank you. April 18, 20251 yr Bad_T. Thank You For ALL of your Grace! Yours is THE DEFACTO link tool for simulation. Just like the Simbrief developer, you have made Addon Linker the only tool to use. And just like the Simbrief developer perhaps some large developer will buy you out for a cool million and continue to make your software available for free! One CAN dream, can they not? (Disclosure. The million is total fantasy on my part and is not “insider information” concerning the sale of Simbrief to Navigraph) -B Edited April 18, 20251 yr by btacon
April 18, 20251 yr Bad_T - is it possible to show MSFS2024 Multiplayers on the Map screen? Regards, Dane - Windows 11 Home - CPU Intel Core i7-10700KF @3.8GHz - EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU - 1TB SSD DRIVE - RAM 32GB - MSFS-2020
April 18, 20251 yr @Dane Watson could you sort the installation issue ? It should be very simple, just extract the 2 EXE from the zip and replace the ones you already have with the official version you got from fs.to. If you go select the menu 'Help -> About' you should see the version number 0.27.9239 (the official one is 0.27.9222). Let me know if you still couldn't figure it out. As for showing mutiplayers aircraft in the map, i need to investigate, i'm really not sure if such functions are available in simconnect for msfs yet.

For some reason I thought the install would actually create a new folder (I was thinking wrongly). All works well in my test so far. Thanks for your thoughts on multiplayer view in the map option.
