May 20, 20251 yr @Dane Watson thank you for the screen that helps (and so i can understand that my previous reply did not make much sense 😱😜) If you have folders that are not 'addons' (they don't have any manifest.json file) like those 'open_hangar' libraries of objects, you can hide them by choosing the option 'hide folder without addons'. Those are objects you import in your own project but they are not addons that can be linked via AL as you probably already noticed, AL can only link Addons. Those open_hangar probably never need to be in your real community folder, when you add the objects in your projet they can taken from anywhere anywhere i think (might be wrong because i never creating something with external objects myself ). So hmm still not sure i replied correctly 100% but we made a bit of progress hopefully 🤞 before option after let me now if the reply is still a bit off 😱, thank you 🍻 Edited May 20, 20251 yr by Bad_T

August 6, 2025Aug 6 I'm currently using AddonsLinker specifically for Msfs20 and Msfs24. I'd like to configure it so that Msfs20 uses the same Addons linked to Msfs24. I think that would be possible with the layout I created. Airports, Africa, Algeria, Airports, Ms20, Ms24 Airportslights, Ms20, Ms24 Algm Mods, Ms20, Ms24 Asset, Ms20, Ms24 Buschtrips, Ms20, Ms24 Within the entire file, I could then choose between Msfs20 and Msfs24, and possibly the files compatible with Msfs20 or Msfs24. What would be the best way to do that?
January 17Jan 17 Apologies for resurrecting an old thread but does AL work with official marketplace folders in 2024? I can’t for the life of me get it to work.
January 18Jan 18 @Mente big sorry, for some reason i never saw your message from August 6th otherwise i would have replied earlier. If you still run MSFS2020 and MSFS2024, you can share the same 'source' folders assuming that most addons will work for both addons, there is no need to duplicate addons. For the specific cases where an addon work only for one of the two sims or of i you have 2 addons with the same name, for example a 'fnx-aircraft-320' folder that work only for v2020 and 'fnx-aircraft-320' that works only for 2024 , you can hide the one not compatible with the version of AL you're running, so you share the same source folders and : when you run AL2024 -> you can hide addons that do not work with MSFS2024 when you run AL2020 -> you can hide addons that do not work with MSFS2020 That's what most people do and it should be ok. I add posted a picture in MAY last year to present that 'hide feature', i'll put it back here below Not sure if it's clear enough or if i replied fully to your question, if not let me know 🍺 @bennyboy75 You can create links in the 'Official2020' and 'Official2024' folders. You need to set 2 different source folders though. So if you have something in your Official2024 folder that you want to link you should be able to drop it in another folder that you specify in the AL options screen 'avanced' tab. Then when you create the link it should appear in the Official2024, same for Official2020 if you need both. So every addon that you place in the folder referenced in 'custom official 2024 folder' field will have its link created in the 'Official 2024' folder, and those placed in 'the custom official 2020 folder' will have their links created in the 'Official 2020' folder. Like i said everytime when moving official files, make sure you start slowly, try 1 addon at the time and test that they work ok inside the sim, do not start moving GB of data before noticing it doesn't work for you. By doing so it should be ok. Also sometimes users with the MS-Store have difficulty with encrypted files and the addons don't work if they are moved, it that happens to you should start seeing 'can not read manifest.json' files and the addon will not work. So if you see that let me know and i'll give you a little trick to move the addon that usually works. Once again not sure if it's very clear, if not let me know with more info about your specific case scenario. 🍺 Edited January 18Jan 18 by Bad_T

So i guess you don't have any message error, you just click on the shortcut (or the EXE, try both) and nothing happens ? Some things to check : - does something appear in your windows taskbar (i guess no because you said you cleared the preference) but let me know if something appears there, or if you see the program launching for a few seconds before disappearing - check the Windows even log, under application you will sometimes see some red icon with an error if an application crashes without saying anything - make sure there is no AL process still running in memory (check with windows task manager), if for some reason there was a problem and it's already running in memory a new instance will not launch - if really nothing happens and nothing is visible then it can also be some security software with high level settings blocking it because it's an unsigned EXE, in that case there is nothing to do inside AL because AL will not be called and it's another program blocking it. In that case can you maybe try to disable them for a few seconds just to try if it's that. - last can you maybe check this post and see if you have the same issue those are my first ideas, might take a bit of time but we'll find out 😉 Edited January 18Jan 18 by Bad_T

The tool should be back to full screen (if you minimize it will disappear again because it's just outside of the monitor boundaries), then go into the options screen 'ui options' and click on the button 'restore windows position' at the bottom and everything should be ok for the next start.

January 20Jan 20 How to adjust the window of any opened program: 1 Focus on the window you want to adjust (use Alt + Tab + arrow keys to select which window). 2 Alt + Spacebar brings up this menu: Restore, Move, Size, Minimize, Maximize, or Close. Now you can do any of those things to that one specific window. For instance to Move it, you use the arrow keys (not the mouse).
