December 14, 20241 yr Thank you again @Adamski_NZ and @doudou ... i had the wrong path and that explains everything here is a version that is hopefully fixed -> https://www.mediafire.com/file/f6nu3rmxkcr4fba/MSFS_AddonsLinker_2024_TEST_20241214b.zip/file another little question 😱, the 'streampackages' subfolder is in the 'localstate' folder or also in the 'localcache' folder ? 🍻🍻

Nah ... that's back in "localstate" ;) ... hard to know what the logic of all this is! I'll grab the new exe and report back .. UPDATE: File opened correctly - and I was able to make edits. I made a manual backup before doing anything. I had the backup option ticked when saving, but couldn't find the backup file AL created afterwards. Any ideas? December 15, 20241 yr thanks again for your time, really appreciated 🍻 🍻🍻.. it's getting a bit late here on the opposite side of the earth compared to you 😱 .. no immediate idea of what is happening there for you, i will try to clear this up tomorrow 🤞 yep it's maybe a permission issue, really hard to say, if you try to create a file manually in that folder does it work or does it tell you that you're not allowed, that might explain it if there are some restrictions (but i think the tool should show an error if it can't save the backup) Edited December 15, 20241 yr by Bad_T

I always run my default user as administrator. On the bright side, I edited my entries for my 2020 version of the AH Spitfire MkI and it worked beautifully! My previous edits for scenery (around NZMF) were all reported correctly. Have a good night :)
December 15, 20241 yr Some progress ... AL saves the files after all, but only after multiple saves (with the tick box checked).

I'm not 100% sure, but I think one of the saves saved the *previous* version. I'll keep an eye on it - to see what's going on.
December 15, 20241 yr yes it saves the previous version -> the current content.xml gets copied and renamed (its windows modified date will still be the old date that's normal, but the date/time in the file name is the current date so you know when the backup has been created). and no there isn't really much in the save process, when the file is saved the backup is created before saving the file, if the backup process generates an error, it should show an error and the process is interrupted. So i don't really see how it could save your file without backup it first and even more strange if that sometimes works and sometimes not .. it's really very mysterious ... 😱
December 15, 20241 yr Mystery solved! ie. There's no mystery ... it's working exactly as you describe. Sorry to have raised your blood pressure for a while, LOL!

December 17, 20241 yr Moderator Using the column chooser, I customized the columns. I then changed the order to suit me. I can find no way to save these selections. When I exit AOL and restart, all columns are back to default. This is with version just d/l from flightsim.to, I know I must have missed something but sure can't see it. Thanx!
