October 17, 20241 yr Author The Crucial X10 needs a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 interface to double the speed of the X9Pro , but this double USB type of slots are rare to find on computers. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. October 20, 20241 yr Author I pulled trigger on the Crucial X9, and it works perfectly and fast. I needed a USB c to a adopter cable to extend the cable length and because I don't have a USB c port on the desktop computer. You need to back up Community to remind yourself of what all is in there in case you lose that folder. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. October 20, 20241 yr I have a proverbial closet full of these from over the past 15 years. Ratings be cast aside. What is needed is for me to use them! It worked perfectly! I now have two 1TB NVMe M2 drives installed (one with the OS on it, and the other one for MSFS), and a single 2TB Toshiba HDD as a backup drive (copies of my Community and Steam/Official folders are regularly updated and stored there). October 21, 20241 yr Author Depends on how much difference. My online storage service in the cloud requires over 1 day to do a backup of my Community folder. The X9Pro did it in about 2 hours. About 550 GB. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. October 21, 20241 yr How do you backup? It seems slow to me. My backup is about 700GB in less than 1 hour over the network.
October 21, 20241 yr I rotate backups between several drives using 10TB HDDs plugged into a Thermaltake BlacX external USB3 HDD cradle...typical transfer rate using O&O Diskimage is ~300MB/s...a little over one TB per hour.
