I don't have that many. Amazon Prime, Netflix, Apple TV. We don't have anything else, no Sky TV or anything like that.

You didn’t mention the TV License. I subscribe to Sky for the football and to a lesser extent, movies. But they tailor the packages in such a way that you save very little by opting out of movies so I keep that going even though the quality is dire compared to previous decades.

Plenty of awesome science fiction, including the new series of Silo on its way. House of The Dragon, Game of Thrones, all the Star Trek Next Generation, Stargate, DS9, Foundation and plenty more. But yes, there is also plenty of rubbish accompanying the good stuff.

Wow, Martin., I like every single show you listed except DS9.

I can't wait for Silo season 2 on Nov 15.

We dumped satellite and cable TV a few tears ago and now just watch subscription channels like Amazon Prime, Hulu., Netflix, AppleTV, and HBO Max.  We spend less than we did paying for the 200 channels we used to have, about 185 of which we never watched.

We had Sky when we were in the UK, but don't miss it at all now, to be honest.

Yep, I'm really looking forward to the next season of Silo, enjoyed season one very much. Me and my son, Daniel, love DS9, it was just so well written. I know it wasn't that popular but I enjoyed Enterprise too.

I'm certainly not a fan of Discovery, badly written, badly acted and the CG is garbage. CG rendering is so good these days that they could make it look ultra realistic, instead they make it look cartoonish and childish, like a flipping transformer movie.  And why on Earth the starship has to spin fifty times before engaging its "Spore Drive" god only knows. 🙄

Enterprise is my favorite Star Trek series.  I wish they had made more seasons, but like you said it just wasn't that popular.

Yup DS9 followed by Enterprise, Captain Archer didn't get enough love in the franchise unfortunately, DS9 is the best written and with the lowest budget, you have to appreciate what they were able to put together with little resources in DS9, Worf was also a game changer, they should have done a spinnoff focused on Worf when DS9 was cancelled.

They have to spin up the speed to engage the drive?

Yeah, Enterprise was great. I've lost count of the number of shows I love that have been canceled. Firefly for example.

It's bonkers, Bill. I'm sure there must be clips on YouTube. The entire ship spins like a crazy thing before zooming off. Whoever came up with that idea is a strange individual

Well, spinning one's spaceship would make sense only if one is being targeted by a laser or plasma cannon. This would not allow the beamed weapon to burn through the body of the ship.

Otherwise, spinning the ship is definitely bonkers, as you conclude. 😼

I love that you like to keep the feline galactic council happy. You will be granted special status when they take over.

In regard to the end of daylight saving, I thought you guys in the US were intending to end the practice?

Looks like its hear to stay in the UK and the Channel Islands will obviously do the same. I don't usually have too much of an issue when it ends, its when it starts that it disrupts my sleep.

I know most folks here want it to end.  I have always liked it as a kid, we got more time to play after dinner.  It also
meant that summer vacation was getting near and that meant the end of the school year.  Now with the Late fall
early winter, it's sunny when I go for my morning walk at 6:30 am!
