Yes I did. Had no problems. Apparently you have another axis that it boudn to the condition levers. Check that

You can only engage VNAV when you're at the TOD, not before. It's not like a 737 or A320, it's really only for engaging the actual descent via the path.

I don't know if that's a bug or if that's how it is in real life (there are not ATRs flying here in Germany), but that's how it works currently at least.

If I’ve purchased the ATR in MSFS 2020 do I get it even if I get the basic msfs2024 version?

Yes. I did the same

Thankyou for your help. I checked what you suggested and cleared out any assignments, alas to no avail. However I eventually chanced upon the cause and it was the way in which I was initiating the flight. If I choose to start a flight either not a he gate or  "ready to GO" with engines running then condition levers are immoveable (a bug). Starting at the gate cold&dark was the answer.

The ATR 72 is driving me crazy!

I just tried my first flight and I had the following issues:

The autopilot wouldn't engage

The flaps wouldn't retract

I get a battery discharge warning even though these are no generator warnings

Help!

Make sure you have flight directors on, see if you have any duplicate or conflicting control entries for flaps. The battery discharge thing is a bug, but if you have everything set up correctly it shouldn't matter and despite panel warning the batteries won't die. It's been a while since I flew it but someone mentioned bugs unless you start at gate cold and dark.

Thank you for replying.

I'll check that I have the flight directors on the next time I try, but I'm certain that they were on. 

Normally, I start the aircraft at the cold and dark state; however, I tried a flight with the aircraft at the runway start everything all set and running and I still couldn't get the autopilot to engage.

I've never seen the battery discharge.

The only bug, still present with the last msfs update is that sometimes if you start to mess up with the flightplan, the avionic will freeze. The aircraft is still flying but the avionic would freeze and don't respond.

When it happend mid flight, you can bypass it doing this:

go to the General Options → Experimental tab, switch USE NANOVG FOR XML GAUGES to OFF.

It reset your flightplan so you have to enter it again but the avionic is back.

Anyway it is an annoying bug.

I've never tested the msfs24 version to see if this was corrected or not.

Anyway, I like this aircraft, it's a nice change of pace compared to jets. The work flow with the hotel mode, etc is way more interresting compared to an A320 for exemple.

Frustrating this hasn’t been fixed yet. I get this issue every several flight I do.
